Chronic wheeze but no asthma?
Hi all, Aware this might not be strictly relevant to this forum but I’ve posted before and got some really helpful advice so I thought I’d give it a try - I wonder if anyone has had any similar experiences to mine below: - always had a reactive wheeze to dust. If I took an antihistamine the wheeze went

Hospital admission bad asthma with no wheeze
Went to A&E this morning after a terrible night. Went in with a really tight chest unable to speak or get air in or out properly. Was expecting problems as no wheeze. But to my surprise the doctor looking after me could see I was struggling and not responding well to Salbutamol nebs. ITU was mentioned

Asthma symtoms and further test denied
Hi all, this is the first time I post here. I want to share my first experience with (Asthma?) symptoms. Since one year I started to experience episodes of breathless mainly at work, cought and sudden awakenings in the night with suffocation feeling. I always thought it was for anxiety and stress. But

Breathlessness issues
Hello, this is my first post. I’ve been having severe breathlessness issues for several months, my cardiologist took me off bisoprolol beta blocker as he wondered if this has exacerbated the situation, 9 weeks on no improvement. I saw my asthma nurse Tuesday had spirometers tests and am seeing a respiratory

Fostair - So far so good!
Well Peeps, day 3 of the previously dreaded Fostair on the advice of my GP practice Pharmacist/Respiratory Nurse, & no side effects whatsoever. What I was dreading was similar to the previous 'maintenance' inhalers, Tiotropium & Aclidinium, both of which delivered a paradoxic reaction & had to be stopped

Xolair Approved!
After 2 long years of persistence and patience, along with many, many attacks, today I was finally told that I have now been granted approval to start Xolair! I was super nervous going into my appointment today after “failing” my methacholine challenge test last week. Luckily, I have an asthma specialist

Lost control of my asthma
So again tonight had another attack and called ambulance. Had several puffs of Salbutamol and the cold weather just made me so tight none of it was going in.😨 I just feel like I am stuck in a perpetual state of rubbish asthma control. I am due to see my respiratory consultant for results of allergy

Using saline with neb for cough
I have a home neb and ventolin nebules for occasional emergency use only. I currently have a troublesome dry asthma cough and burning sensation in my upper airways that some of you have described. Also my chest feels a bit tight despite taking salbutamol. I am not wheezing and my chest is clear. I was

I had to change doctors on moving to my latest home! The previous month I’d gone for my usual respiratory check with my nurse at old surgery! She asked if I would try a different inhaler‘Trimbow’ saying many surgeries in the area were trialling it! I agreed. After doing usual tests said readings were

Breathlessness
I have had problems with cold weather the last few winters, and this winter is no better. However, in addition I now seem to be far more affected by walking, especially with any incline, however slight. Last summer it was a bit of an issue, but I could manage it well with salbutamol if going for an uphill

Hello fellow COPD Sufferers
I'm glad I received an email about this group since I recently diagnosed with COPD. Funny thing is I was "diagnosed" with it years ago. But now that I'm 81 and my dtrs are concerned about my "wheezing", I went to a Pulmonary specialist which tested me and ordered a special CAT scan to see my breathing

Nebulizer
Not sure if you all do this but. When I get up some mornings I have fluid I can't cough up. I use to light a cigaretteto make myself cough. Now, i don't smoke and use my nebulizer. Over years I saw how the albuterol affected me. Shakes, sometimes off balance. One of my V.A. stays I talked to a
