Hi Guys!!

I have just been put onto the DuoResp Spiromax inhaler, and i am just after any feedback. I was previously taking Serevent and Beclomethasone.

Does anyone take this and if so, is it a good inhaler to be on/better than the 2 i was on previously? I have had Asthma for 30 years and only ever tried one other inhaler, than my 2 old ones.

Thanks :) Any info you have would be appreciated!

Hi, I have been on the DuoResp Spiromax inhaler for a number of months, there are 2 strengths the lower one having a green stripe and the stronger one having a blue stripe.

My inhaler is the green stripe lower strength one which contains 160 mcg budesonide and 4.5 mcg formoterolo fumarato diidrato. I take 3 puffs in the morning and 3 puffs in the evening as per doctors orders.

I've found it an easy to use inhaler, just need to breath in quickly and deeply to ensure the medication gets right into your lungs.

The only side effect it gave me was a slightly rough throat which I found I could avoid by using my inhaler first thing in the morning and then having something to eat or breakfast a little while later.

It has greatly helped my breathlessness that's for sure although I am still slightly breathless but so much better for using it.

Hope it all goes well for yourself.

Thank you for your reply! I am also on the lower strength one. This sounds very promising! Thank you :)

I have been on the higher strength one (320/9), for several years. It is the best preventer inhaler I've ever had in 46 years of asthma.

I have been on higher duoresp pump for almost 3 years now, 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I find it gives me shakes for a little while and occasionally heart palpitations, but i only seem to get that if you use my blue inhaler within half an hour of taking it.

I was put on DuoResp in 2018 and struggled with Asthma flare ups for months, never under control. Now on Seretide and things are better ( more controlled) if you Google the difference between inhalers you will see DuoResp is a cheaper version of other inhalers and my own personal opinion and backed up by my GP is that Asthma is to dangerous to be put down to cost, if it's not working for you after a couple of weeks don't suffer in silence go back and tell your GP/ Asthma nurse. Good luck

I was first diagnosed DuoResp as it was cheaper but it is by far the best inhaler I have had in my 46 years of asthma.

Hi. I find duo-resp really helps but get thrush in throat if I don't rinse / gargle after inhalation, then need nistatin to get rid of it. Good dental hygiene really important and Hygenist regularly
