Rotigotine

I’ve reduced my dose from a daily 8mg Ropinorole (Dopamine Agonist) (DA) and I’m currently stuck on 2mg Rotigotine patches. I’ve tried to get below that without success so far.

GP said she couldn't prescribe directly as had to consult with a neurologist, guess what, neurologist has suggested Rotigotine patch, aargh! Clearly having browsed this forum I've declined. GP expected this as I told her I didn't want a DA.

I presently employ Neupro Rotigotine 2 mg patch to treat it and prior to the patch I took Ropinirole.

I was also prescribed Rotigotine, 4mg/day, and Rasagiline, .5mg/day. After 6 months on the agonist I developed severe insomnia, along with an overall feeling of being "amped up", and 'hyper-active".

Can anyone please advise on best way to taper off rotigotine completely

I have been using prescribed Rotigotine patches for a few years now up to 4mgs, have peeps found them helpful?

I have decided to stick with Rotigotine patches for another 6 months when I don't have any commitments. She has offered support when I decide to come off them, but doesn't favour Tramadol.

Can Pregabalin alone replace Rotigotine? For me, Tramadol works once per month For how long after stopping Rotigotine do the side effects and symptoms continue so aggressively?

I was prescribed rotigotine (patch) 4mg/24hr, 4.5 months ago. I am starting to feel a little too amped up from it, including episodes of insomnia. Last week I tried to reduce it by trimming about 25% off one side.

Just wanted to let people know that after augmented on Rotigotine (Neupro patch ) , I did an aesthetics course . On the course they gave me a free B12 injection , (my blood did not state i was low in this but i was low in ferritin ) was due to have an iron transfusion , but they cancelled it .

I also want to get off 4mg patch Rotigotine which won't be easy.

I filed a Freedom of Information request to the UK MHRA to find out how many adverse drug effects are recorded against Ropinirole, Pramipexole and Rotigotine for each of the last 5 years.

Not quite related, anybody had any success with the patch Rotigotine? Thank you.

It recommended levodopa, rotigotine gabapentin enacarbil and pregabalin. It did not recommend gabapentin, tramadol, methadone or any other opioids nor intravenous use of ferric carboxymaltose or iron sucrose.

I'm now taking about 20 LD/day, a rotigotine patch 4mg/24hrs and .5 mg of rasagaline/day. I'm wishing apon my lucky star, that I will be put on a waiting list soon for DBS or a subcutaneous injectiion pump, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm on rotigotine patches (I think I'm augmenting), Tramadol and pregabalin.

DR. prescribed Rotigtine, 1mg every 24hrs patch. I've declined "not" to take it for fear of effects down the road. I guess the Dr thought at my age (74) I may not be around by the time severe effects "could" happen.. So my question is, seeing that I have a 90 day supply (VA automatically sends persciptions
