Hi, can Rotigotine cause augmention? If not does it have an adverse effect on RLS?

It certain can cause augmentation. It was promoted as being less likely to cause augmentation but that has been disproved. It is a DA just like ropinirole and pramipexole.

You'll notice in the study it stopped augmentation just as any DA would if the dose were increased, and 4 mg is greater than the 3 mg maximum.

Hello Keith1231. I was prescribed Rotigatine Patches and used them for years before being prescribed Ropinirole both are Dopamine Agonists and both cause augmentation as I found to my cost and took 13 months to withdraw. A few people report that they have been taking one or the other for many many years without any adverse effects but I personally wouldn’t risk it.

Best wishes HipHop1972
