Lipid results
Since my last post regarding elevated finger prick sample for cholesterol, I am now in receipt of my formal blood test results for lipid profile which are borderline and need to speak to Doctor. I do have a GP follow up next week to discuss these but wondered if anyone on here can interpret them and

Update to Feeling overwhelmed
Apologies for the long post. I was referred to the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic by my GP as she is unsure if my chest pain and breathlessness is down to my lung conditions or if I have angina. I attended the clinic 2 weeks ago and was referred for a heart CT angiogram where they inject a contrast

New to all this
76 years old, no heart problems as far as I knew, just had one of my better games of golf for a couple of years and started to get an ache in my chest in the evening. So phoned the Healthline (I live in NZ) and they had a 30 minute wait, so tried the ambulance service, who operate a triage service.

Hashis and Graves? Watch and Wait has now caught up.
About 15 months or so, I had an appointment for a thyroid specialist as my thyroid tests pointed towards Graves. I had been hypothyroid for about 17years when my different results meant my gp prescribing less and less levo. When the amount became 12.5mcg, (after an original 150 mcg) I asked to be

Is it my lungs or PMR
I have gone back in my memory trying to figure out when my issues all began and in what order. I believe my PMR started in early 2019 when preparing for a dog show (possibly sooner and I just blamed it on old age LOL). Muscle weakness and shortness of breath were new to me. Over the next several months

What is an ablasion procedure is it safe?
Diagnosed with AFIB, cardiologist has suggested for me to look into ablasion proceedure. Taking Eliquis but an expensive drug to be on. Research shows this proceedure with ablasion only 70% successful to put heart back in a normal rhythem? Has anyone had this proceedure done?

Amiodarone again...loading dose?
I'm reluctantly back on Amiodarone ahead of a cardioversion in the next few weeks. I had an ablation five weeks ago and have been in AF for the duration. When I was originally on Amiodarone (before a successful carioversion) I started on a high loading dose. This time its 200mg once a day, the maintenance

ET Increase in Platelets Linear or Random?
I've had ET since my early 30s and my platelets seem to be increasing by a set amount each year, I'm now in my 40s and platelets are at 900. It seems like I should be able to plot that and figure out when its going to get to a worrying level. So I guess I'd like to know at what level will I need to

Interesting article about curing autoimmune diseases
You don't get to view very many free articles, but the Epoch Times had this to say about potentially curing autoimmune diseases. https://www.theepochtimes.com/health/can-autoimmune-disease-be-cured-scientists-say-we-may-be-close-5579207

occasional AF
My husband has recently had several bouts of AF lasting just a few minutes each. Heart rate only slightly raised. He is 72, pretty fit and not overweight. Had an ECG at the doctors which didn't detect AF. GP just said to leave it but call an ambulance if happens again and he is breathless. Is this how

Multaq Side Effects
Been on 400mg of Multaq bid for a month now and have had few issues with it so far but what I have noticed is that an hour or so after taking it I become extremely fatigued to the point I have to lie down for a nap. Is this something others have experienced? I was on Amiodarone for 6 months and had zero
