Ribavirin

. -- No way to say whether it's relevant to us, esp since Hep C treatment adds oral ribavirin, and it's a small trial. But it seems to show the two are good for Hep C but not fully equivalent.

In this trial, it was apparently the control which is an issue for me. #3 ribavirin is a re-purposed anti viral primarily for Hepatitis C. Definitely toxic when taken alone and can cause heart SDS.

My treatment was Abbie 3d and ribavirin iv read one other person on here or it may have been on hep c trust that experienced the same things i did . I wonder why some do and some don't I'm happy for those who didn't go through the same . Let's hope 2019 brings good heath to all X

My husband has started treatment for hepatitis c genotype 1 and is taking zepatier & ribavirin. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had the zepatier before & if their treatment was successful? Thanks in advance, Julie x

The ribavirin is pretty toxic but I am managing. I am an athlete so it has been the biggest challenge to continue my sport life will on this treatment. Some days are not good but overall, I am managing. As we all do. Nice to see little changes, fingernails, hair, face, all looking normal.

Hello. Glad to find this community. I am week 1 into treatment. My docs said no vitamins or other medications during treatment. Are there any vitamins that I can take? Any advice? Thank you.

(He can be stubborn) I'm really really stressed now, what with that & my fight with the ribavirin (5 wks left) I went years & years with no flare ups and 3 yrs ago had a massive flare up and was in hospital for weeks!!

End of treatment bloods and appointment on Tuesday, leftover Ribavirin (due to dose reduction) will be handed back to nurse, and after that I will just keep walking the opposite way lol!! Well until I have to go back after 3 months 😅 back to work on the 15th.

Hi, has anyone that has had ribavirin experienced purple bruising anywhere in their body?

What a life changing 6 months.finished triple hep c treatment with ribavirin. From even 6 weeks ago to now it’s sooo much better. I still have some side effects . The force of these meds literally knocked me down. But it’s almost like a resurrection. Anyone going through it my prayers for you.

Was at the hospital yesterday to see doc & bloods, 3 hrs later as I got in my front door the phone rang, it was the doc I'd see earlier saying she'd already had my bloods back & that my haemoglobin has dropped yet again & she thinks its the ribavirin that's doing it!!

Had call yesterday that my haemoglobin has dropped to 97 or 9.7 (same thing) so another dose reduction of Ribavirin to four a day. Hoping that tablets will still be effective, as dose is getting reduced so much now.

I hope that is ok with the Ribavirin? Does anyone know? Lol. Nurse didn't call me last week with results re haemoglobin, so assuming it's gone back up to normal, might ring them coming week 😎Hope you are all well, have a lovely Sunday 🤗😎😘🍀🍀🍀🙏

I'm 21weeks in hep c treatment I'm on ribavirin addie 3D Iv been so ill fatigue ugaly rash on Leg and lower back.

Slept okish, felt a bit crap yesterday late afternoon, but ok right now, morning doses have been forced down 😳 almost two boxes of Exviera and viekirax gone and one bottle of Ribavirin empty 😌 I have pretty much no itching at all now and feel okish, or maybe have gotten used to feeling rubbish 😂😂

Virus clear so they are letting me drop the dose of ribavirin 😀 four months to go I’m at the end of my strength so needed some sort of boost

I am having horrible dermatology problems with the ribavirin litterly want rip off my skin doing every right using emmoilent washing clothes etc popping piriton like skittles I only have 6 weeks to go but feeling really rough anyone else have this problem?

I think it sounds better, I have just gone through my 4 month treatment Ribavirin and Solvaldi due for my first bloods to see if its cleared but all looking good,fingers crossed it doesn't come back, as I know it can.

Well, good morning good people, first lot of tablets went down this morning, still feeling fine, perhaps a little spacey but fine so far 😊 Took three minutes to get them all down though, flipping viekirax are a bit big lol. Will report back as I go along, keep well and good luck to you all 😉😎🍀🍀

Have never been so scared :/ I have to take six ribavirin two exviera and two vikierax a day. So six in morning and four in evening. I'm off to work now, but I'm so so anxious right now, this is not like me normally. Thanks for listening just had to get it off my chest.
