Hepatitis C Trust
746 members
The Hepatitis C Trust is the UK charity for hepatitis C. We support and advocate for people who have hepatitis C and who have had it in the past. Most of our staff and volunteers have lived experience of hepatitis C. We use this experience to improve care, and in our services; we provide hepatitis C education, testing and support all over the UK in partnership with the NHS. Our helpline and information service has been running since 2004 and we have a wealth of understanding of hepatitis C itself and of the many ways it affects people's lives. We welcome you to this community where we can all discuss and share our experiences, support and knowledge with each other.

Welcome to the online support forum of HepCBC Hepatitis C Education and Prevention Society! We are based in British Columbia, Canada, but our outreach efforts are open to anyone in the world struggling with this disease. We've been incorporated since 1996 and a registered Canadian charity since 2001. Our MISSION: HepCBC is a non-profit organization run by and for people infected and affected by hepatitis C. Our mission is to provide education, prevention and support to those living with HCV. Our POSITIVE PHILOSOPHY is: Although we are constantly dealing with the challenge of a relentless disease, and people who are hurting, HepCBC always tries to improve people’s lives, and have a positive attitude: All services are provided for free. Preserving client confidentiality is a key goal. We understand HCV stigma and we respect that your HCV status, health, and contact information must only be disclosed by you, when you want to do it, to whom you want to disclose only, and with no outside pressure. We strive to be respectful and non-judgemental while exploring differences in experiences and insights. Our concern is helping as many HCV+ people as possible, not dwelling on how they contracted the disease. We provide the most current research results about testing and treatment options. We want you to be able to make informed decisions according to your own unique circumstances. HepCBC will strive to appoint volunteers with excellent knowledge and experience to manage this online forum. For more information, please visit our website!
