Eating small amounts of food leaves me feeling weak and shaky. Any idea's greatly appreciated. X
This is a new symptom yet again! This doesn't seem to fit in with the GD, but ive lost 20lb since my drama with Quetiapine( as mentioned in my previous and accumulating questions sorry), but doesthis fit in with anyone's experiences with Graves? I am mostly living on Complan drinks as I am beginning

Does lack of digestive enzymes in saliva and stomach go with Sjogrens ? Lost a lot of weight, no appetite, food hard to digest.
I use bioten for gluggy mouth, eye drops and ointments but now need to add pills before and during every meal just to digest anything even a small bowl of porridge. I'm assuming this is normal with Sjogrens is it? Taking amylase pepsin and betaine enzymes which help with the pain and bloating. Suggestions

Carnitine 'Damages heart'
Over time, we have seen L-carnitine mentioned quite a number of times. As well as the more general issues of appropriate diets. Today a specific story relates why red meat might specifically be an issue - and the taking of L-carnitine, lecithin, choline or betaine supplements (see towards end of story

Low Stomach Acid and dosage of betaine hcl
Hi I've been awake the last couple of nights with 'acid throat' discomfort. I did the bicarbonate of soda test this morning - 1 tsp in 200mls of water. Not a single burp for over half an hour! I'm thinking I may have low stomach acid and considering getting some betaine hcl tabs. Does anyone

My first blog!
Just joined here the other day. So great to find a UK based group where people are discussing their thyroid issues! I go on a lot of US ones, but find they don't always understand the UK struggles, though they are very informative in other ways. I have been hypothyroid for 17 yrs on T4 only and diagnosed

Low stomach acid.
I've been treating this with betaine hydrochloride for about a month - have definitely noticed an improvement in my digestion, and am hoping it's helping my absorption of vitamins and minerals. Does anyone know how long it should be taken for, and is it OK to take it long-term if necessary?
