Problems with Teva?
Hi I am new on here. Never done this before. I have graves disease which was treated with radioactive iodine in 2013. Since then I have been taking Accord Levothyroxine with no problems. Two months ago the pharmacy gave me Teva I didn't think anything of it. Since then I have gradually become very ill

A new approach for treatment of subthreshold bipolar disorders: Targeted high dose levothyroxine+repetitive TMS for mitochondrial treatment
A very interesting paper. Difficult to grab any individual bits for discussion or introduction. The whole paper isn't very long. Even if bipolar disorders are not themselves of much direct interest, it might be worth a quick read because it discusses the control group as well and their ability to tolerate

something new written on levo tabs
I went to open my new box of Levothyroxine and on the outer label it says, “ take in the morning 30-60 minutes before food “ which it has always said, but now it also says along side this “ and drinks containing caffeine” Never had this on the box before. Is this something new? I always take my

Wockhardt levothyroxine
Hi I just read on another site anyone over the age of 50 shouldn't take Wockhardt brand of levothyroxine. Surely this can't be true. I've been taking 50/75 mcgs of this brand for 9 months as I've reacted badly to other brands

Levothyroxine extra ingredients (excipients)
So many people want to know what is in the different brands of levo, so I prepared this table based on helvella's useful file. I looked up the ingredients of current brands. I made it for a friend and it seems to make things clearer for me. Please let me know any errors.

recurrent fungal infections & reaction to probiotics
I have been on the same dose of Levothyroxine for about 13 months (212.5mcg) and seem to be doing ok thyroid wise. However, I have had a fungal infection in my nails and excessive gas for as long as I can remember, and I get recurring fungal infections on my face, scalp, back, chest and feet. Last year

Poorly controlled hypothyroidism and a susceptibility to viral infections.
My T3 was on 19% on my most recent test. In the space of a few months I’ve had almost every virus . I’ve had flu A RSV and now Covid with very high temperatures. Before I started this journey on levothyroxine I was never ill rarely had anything at all. This has completely floored me I’ve never been so

Cholesterol 😩
Can someone clever please help with this Blood test of yesterday? It was slightly higher 3 months ago but my TSH was higher also so I didn’t worry too much. So now Levothyroxine has been increased and I’m over corrected at TSH of 0.25 and Free T4 of 30. Was hoping that my previous TSH of 5.4 was responsible

I’m currently taking levothyroxine - 75 4 days a week and 100 3 days a week. Latest test results are T4 21.7 and TSH 1.92. Time to change my dosage or continue? I can’t get an appointment with anyone sensible now for over a week

Hypothyroid for 30 years
I've been Hypothyroid for 30 years, I take Levothyroxine 100μg during the night - to keep it separate from all the other meds I have for other conditions. I follow the advice that certain foods are 'not helpful' for a hyperthyroid condition (Brussel sprouts, Cauliflower - which I have very occasionally

Symptoms fluctuating
I am positive for Trab, TPO and Tg antibodies. I had Graves, was treated with carbi (didn't need high doses), went into remission and stopped carbi as per endo advice about 7 months ago (after 14 months of treatment), was ok for a few months and now, instead of suffering a hyper relapse as I thought

Sublingal Levothyroxine
Just a simple question? Has anyone tried taking their levothyroxine sublingually and, if so, how did it go? (Just something Westin Childs suggested trying to potentially improve absorption) Must admit, I kind'a feel it might mean your body would react to the intensity of that one hit in a negative

2 levothyroxine questions
1. The recommended dose for levothyroxine is 1.6mcg /kg of body weight. Are most thyroid patients on this dose? 2. If I wanted to switch from T4/T3 combination to only T4 medication to check if my conversion has improved after making healthy changes for a year, how long would I have to be on T4 only
