Self isolating query
So confused with all the asthma advice going around, just a few questions. In 2018 i was diagnosed with asthma following a consultant referral and numerous chest infections/xrays. I had been on numerous steroid inhalers leading upto the consultant, they put me on qvar 100 2 puffs. Following this period

Vulnerable group self isolation form for employee to give employer
Hi all, I’ve spoken to my GP this afternoon as I don’t fall into the severe asthma group but I’m using my blue inhaler everyday at moment . He’s upped my qvar to 4 puffs 4 times a day for a week and then revert to 2 puffs 2 times a day if asthma goes back to normal . If it doesn’t then I’m to contact

Self-isolate ?
I am 65 years old and take Qvar inhaler 2 puffs twice a day along with Serevent inhaler 2 puffs twice a day plus 1 Montelucast tablet at night. Do I self isolate ? The info is confusing.

Some advice on self isolating please.
I wonder if anyone could offer advise. I suffer with asthma that is pretty poorly controlled. I have a Qvar preventer inhaler and the usual blue inhaler. I normally have to take my blue inhaler 2-3 times a day. I always end up with chest infections when I get a cold and was really poorly when I contracted

Define severe asthma
Hi All, I'm a bit confused about the asthma part of covid-19. My work do have the ability for me to WFH, although they are trying to get as much people in to the office as possible and at present it has been agreed but this could change and anytime and I want to make sure before I insist on doing it

Scared of taking prednisolone
I’ve never taken steriods before and I’m terrified of taking them (had bad reaction to tablets once and it’s scared me) Asthma is normally controlled and only causes problems with triggers or colds etc. Started with a cold 7 days ago and it gave me a bad cough and wheezing. Peak flow was down from 500

Trouble sleeping
Hi. I started having this weird symptom of feeling a rush of adrenaline and a sharp inhale upon falling asleep last year. It started to get better but it’s been really bad again so I hardly get any sleep. This seems to only happen at night and not when I’m taking a nap during the day. I’m wondering if

Normal flora
Hi, glad to join. I have asthma and bronchiectasis following a chemical accident with ammonia 11 years ago. Whenever I have a “chest infection” my doctor sends off a sputum sample (before antibiotics started) but it always comes back as normal flora. My respiratory consultant says this is not a chest

Fostair 200 Dummy...
Following a CT scan, in May this year, I was diagnosed with Late Onset Asthma (very late - as I’m 73 years old...LOl). After an initial bombardment of Prednisone, Qvar 100 and Salbutamol, things eased a little however, the breathlessness, persistent tight band around the rib cage along with a little

Fostair 200/6
Hello, I’m a 73 year old ‘newbie to this group who, following a CT Scan, was recently diagnosed with ‘Late Adult Onset Asthma’ - that appears to be railing against being kept under control. We’ve been through the ‘let’s try this’ scenario that has included prednisone, Ventolin and Qvar. A private consultation

What do you think?
I have asthma and am on Qvar. My current flair up started on January first at 3:30am, and since I was incarcerated I was not able to get any medication for 4 months later when I was released. Upon being released I was prescribed the Qvar inhaler. That was 3 months ago. Since then my attacks have been

Dionysius1662 I have been prescribed Fostair after using QVar inhaler for years. It is making me feel shaky and sickly. Will this pass, this is day 2.

Successful stepping down from inhalers
Hi. I would love to hear anyone’s success stories on stepping down from their inhalers. And curious if anyone has been able to get completely off of their inhalers? I’m currently reducing my dose of qvar from 80 to 40, I’m doing it super slowly because I’m afraid of having a flare. Thanks!

Difficult to diagnose and treat asthma, not VCD... 3rd asthma doctor needed
My current asthma doctor has recently decided that most of my coughing and SOB symptoms are attributed to VCD. During my latest URI and flare she told me it was my VCD and to rest and use cough medicine. That didn’t work, I called in two more times- my cough and SOB was constant and she still wouldn’

Worry about long term side effects of Ventolin.
I am 43 and was diagnosed aged 18. Until very recently I have been using Qvar and Ventolin to treat my Asthma. Lately my doctor has said my asthma has become more chronic because I am older and that long term use of Ventolin may have caused my airways to tighten permanently. This has really concerned
