Your thoughts on next course of action
First, I'd like to thank the many good folks that contribute this forum. Your inputs have been a life send to me over the past several years, especially Tall Allen who recommended UW Medicine where my MO and RO are located. They have been fantastic to work with. The short story - Diagnosed in 2018.

amiodarone effect on NDT
Hi Everyone.I've just had a heart op and have been put on amiodarone for three weeks. I know this drug is known to damage a healthy thyroid. I'm just wondering what effect it has on someone optimally treated for hypothyroidism with NDT. My worry is will it lower the conversion of Thyroid hormones..

Oar Gel and gold placements for beginners on this journey
I am a beginner on this PC journey but feel fortunate that I caught my cancer before it had spread beyond the prostate. I caught sepsis from my directed transrectal biopsy and spent a lovely few days in ICU flirting with the nurses and trying not to mess up the bed and floor too much. I have 9 weeks

Anyone else tried NDT due to levo side effects?
Hi All I've struggled with different brands of levothyroxine as they give me terrible side effects (Teva is the worst). Wockhardt seems to be the only one I can tolerate, however I have not been feeling myself for a couple of months, and wondering if I now can't tolerate this one either. I feel weird

Graves - thyroid removed
Hi I had full thyroid removal in 2014 due to graves. I wondered if any of you could tell me as I no longer have a thyroid will I still have graves? I cannot regulate my temperature, dry skin, weight goes up and down all the time, aches in my body all the symptoms really. Levels are all within normal

Decision Time Very Soon
My profile is updated, but briefly, diagnosed de novo, high volume metastatic in April 2022. PSA 28.2, Gleason 4+5. ADT & 6 rounds chemo brought PSA to 0.48 in Jan. 2023 & then started creeping up. In June, went over 2 & MO felt was castrate resistant. Stopped abi. and started Keytruda (I am MSI- high

The condition after 2.5 years on NDT
Hello everyone! I'm taking NDT for 2.5 years, take 2.375 tablets divided into 4 times in a day. I was taking only thyroxine during 24 years and the biggest dose was 125 mcg. Using NDT I feel much better, I lost 10 kg. But what bothers, that looks like I have not enough fat, especially in the upper body

T3 no longer working
Hello, I have been on T3 for several years now. I started on T4 but it made my hypo symptom worse, I had a few months of success with NDT but again it ended up making me more hypo. I was seeing Dr Peatfield at the time (so sad to hear of his passing, he was a wonderful gentleman and doctor) he recommended

degeralix vs lupron
Hello, Any thoughts on which ADT treatment is better? My husband received his first injection with Degeralix today to prevent the testosterone flare and next month the doctor is planning on a 3 month Lupron injection. From what I’ve been reading, it seems that the Degeralix may be better than Lupron

Rawr!
I don't know what else to say, laughing. Insert big fat sigh as well. I have zero understanding why my labs continue to be so off. The endocrinologist is going to accuse me of non-compliance yet again (I will go NOPE, NOPE & NOPE.) I take those little buggers in the middle of the night like a champ.

Prostate cancer morphed into NEPC
I was recently blindsided by my "under control" prostate cancer, turning into High Grade Neuroendocrine Prostate cancer (NEPC). After 13 years of various therapies, the last few years included Lupron/Eligard, Zytiga, Xtandi. This kept the PSA low (around .2) and kept my MO happy. In 2021, I asked my
