Alivecor Feedback please! Does anyone find their readings very limited and hard to read the wonky Ecgs?
I place my hands on the table to limit mvmt and feel I succeed but the ECGs are quite wonky. When I get PACs SVTs PVCs and once an IVCD I understand the wobbles but often I am in NSR with very strange readings! So far always in NSR with or without the other indications. I am quite perplexed by the

Asthma's my latest diagnosis!
Hi all I've had all sorts of things since October 2012, including the flu (or something like it: all this is post-viral), post-viral hyper-reactivity, asthma (first diagnosis at GP), pneumonia, chest infections (various, 'treated' with antibiotics), pleurisy, HIV sero-conversion illness (after assessment

New here - could this be Uticarial Vasculitis?
My full blood count of two weeks revealed nothing apart from low Basophils, a high
PVC
and a raised ESR of 52.

FEV test was 47% - quite worried.
I was a 30 a day smoker for 38 years but quit on 28 April 2009. I was diagnosed with COPD after a bout of pneumonia in January 2004, after which I carried on smoking like a complete fool. My lungs are now shot to bits obviously. I have just had my annual COPD review with the practice nurse and my

Asthma? COPD.
I developed asthma about 4 years ago, then 51 yrs old. The last couple of years I have been beset with chest infections and seemingly uncontrollable asthma. Consultant told me COPD but then last hospital visit the registrar said Asthma . I gave up my job as a special needs teacher as this contributed

Symbicort to Seretide
Appointment with GP this morning as my breathing is worse than when I was diagnosed in July. Switched me from Symbicort 200/6 to Seretide 250. She said I should not be displaying these symptoms at this early stage - FEV1 73%. Had 2 chest x rays which are clear. Blood tests clear. No sign of chest

Can anyone help me please? 6 years ago I was diagnosed with mild emphysema a scan said apical fibrosis with patches of emphysematous
changes in different regions of the lungs. my fev1 was 88.5%. Peak flow rate was 6.09 and tlc was 5.79. I don't know what they are now, I've had many chest infections and I know my breathing is so much worse. Earlier this year with a very nasty c/h I had an ordinary x ray and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis

My lung problems and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the operation I had in 2006
Hello all, I've not been on the forum long but you all seem such a knowledgeable and friendly bunch thought I'd tell you a bit about my lung problem history. At the turn of the century in 2000 I and my family were hit with a horrendous flu bug (We called it the millenium bug!). I developed a really

Happy Monday-update.
Afternoon everyone This morning I met with a Professor, this was organised via my work. We went through my health history and he examined my 2012/2013 Spriromity results, we also discussed my lung specialist letter. All in all it went very well, he is happy with the 2012 and 1013 lung function results

Narrowing of the air ways
Just went over my 2012 and 2013 Sprimority test results. FEV1 FEV in 2012 was 79% and in 2013 it went up to 82% however just noticed a decline in the small air way numbers, can they rectify them-self now I have stopped smoking or are they irreversible. David 1968

Fantastic news.
One year on from diagnosis and I had a spirometry test today. My FEV1 has improved! It was 55% and is now 65%. The reason? The work I do at the gym. Exercise IS worth it.

what is the diagnosing reading for COPD in pft? fev1<80 or fev1/fvc<70?
Im 28 yrs and have fev1 76% and 79% (post bronchodilator) ; fvc 80% and 81% ( post bronchodilator) and fev1/fvc 80%. Do I have COPD? Most websites I have come across say that, to confirm COPD, fev1/fvc should be less than 70 % and fev1 reading is used to find the severity.
