Time to find a new pulmonologist?
Every quarter in Israel I can change doctors and the end of a quarter is coming up (end September). I'm increasingly frustrated with my current pulmonologist, but I'm worried that I won't do much better with a new pulmonologist. All the pulmonologists in town work that are part of my health plan work

I am no further forward
I went to see Nurse today and no further forward. Inhalers they have me on are useless (Qvar 100 and Salbutamol) and last 4 weeks I have been so breathless and unable to sleep in bed so have been sitting up on sofa cat napping. Chris said today ' right that's it we are getting you to change doctor

Following tests my FEV1 showed at 30% pre inhaler and 47% post inhaler. So which of these figures do I provide as FEV1 when asked?

Breathlessness-went back to see GP
Diagnosed 2 weeks ago today - Happy Anniversary to me- with COPD after having Spirometry test with Nurse. My FEV1 reading before inhaler was 71 and after 73. FVC was 109. Told me to come back in a year. Prescribed Salbutamol and Qvar100. SOB was constant and when I saw GP yesterday she prescribed

Breathless and really worried............ is this what to expect at moderate stage or should I have inhalors upped
I was diagnosed with COPD 10 days ago after having spirometry test by Nurse at GP surgery. Reading was FEV1 73. I was given inhalors Salbutamol 100mcg 2 puffs 4 times a day and Beclometasone 100mcg 2 pufs twice a day. I will go back and discuss as I was so in shock that I could not think of questions

Recently diagnosed
I attended GP and Nurse last Tuesday for spirometry as they thought I may have Asthma. FEV1 reading was 73. Was told it was moderate COPD and I was too stunned to take it all in. I am going to go back and get more info and advice. I was given Salbutamol and Beclometasone inhalers. I am still feeling

Update - having hard time with taper, doctors
Eight months ago I came down with a cold which turned into one of my worst periods of uncontrolled asthma in years. Things hit a low point at the beginning of May when I was hospitalized for an asthma flare-up. The week after I left the hospital, things were really good and I thought that finally

50 and a man with a canoe
The most concerning thing was whether now I have to hang up the
PVC
disco shorts, and I decided no, they should have been hung up 30 years ago so it was a bit late. It won't pass by uncelebrated as there follows a bit of a do this weekend.

Where should a FVC% be on a Spiroetry test? should it be higher or lower than your FEV1 result?

Being negative about being positive
What does it mean to me, truly well to be honest I pondered on is it time to give up
PVC
shorts (frankly that time was 30 years ago but since I didn't heed it then its unlikely now) I guess what I am saying is it is no more significant than that.

Spirometry
Just back from annual review and have mixed feelings. My FEV1 was 34% which suprisingly was slightly better than last year which was a pleasant surprise but the other 2 readings they took FVC and something else were slightly worse so I was told there was little overall change and still categorised as
