Blood Test Results
Hello, I would be grateful for some advice regarding these results. The background is that my Levothyroxine dose was reduced from 100mcg to 75 in early February 2024, due to a TSH only test which was below range. By late March I could barely function so I had a private test prior to the GP's TSH test

Newbie - Is this Normal? Should I have Treatment?
Good morning! I'm a newbie here and i'm just unsure as to whether I should accept what my GP is telling me and put up with it or go private. A bit of history - I'm 46, female, overall good health historically but diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Deficiency (Early menopause) in my early thirties.

Update to "Graves/hyperthyroid - not severe but wish me luck!"
Firstly not quite sure how threads work in this forum, seems that adding a reply to a thread doesn't bump it, so have started new thread, apologies if this is not the way to do it. I just wanted to respond to previous comments. Several members cautioned me that since my hormone levels were not very

High Thyroid Antibodies symptoms
Hi everyone, I am wondering whether having high antibodies can affect one's overall being. After a very bad experience of labyrinthitis in 2022 which led me to an ultrasound investigation when a multi nodular goitre was discovered by an endocrinologist. I was advised then that it was benign and

American Thyroid Association - Thyroid Hormone Testing overview
Like most documents, this has strengths and weaknesses. You might find it easier to follow than some. Though some of it really is quite hard for those not already familiar with thyroid issues. Or more up-to-date (it was published this year - 2024). And it might provide some useful and quotable

Just a quick update, Endo appointment 👿
went to Royal Liverpool Endo dept , was hoping to see the consultant who is on TUK Uk list. Unfortunately this did not happen, the person I saw was less than helpful, see I can be tactful, sometimes. Introduced herself as diabetes consultant and she lived up to that name. The first thing she said

Fatigue and lethargy
I’m stage 4 ckd, and I am experiencing fatigue and lethargy on a daily basis. I find that I have very little energy, and I can barely accomplish anything beyond a couple of small tasks. I also have stage 3 non-alcoholic liver disease, and had open heart surgery in 2019. However, my recent echo gram

Test results and lowered levo
Hi, Wondering if I can get some advice! During a visit to an endocrinologist (unrelated to my thyroid problems) I was surprised with thyroid function tests mid-afternoon. The results (TSH 0.04 & T4 20.4) led to the endo recommending my levothyroxine be dropped from 100mcg (a dose I’ve been on for

Thyroid function tests
Hi all, The GP has printed off a form for me to take to the hospital tomorrow to check my TSH levels. I’ve noticed on the form it says, ‘thyroid function tests’. Does this include T3 and T4? I know last time I only had a result for TSH. If so, do I need to fast? My test isn’t until 4pm.

A few weeks ago I had a text to arrange my annual COPD review. This is normally with the practice nurse who can prescribe medications too. I was surprised to be given a Doctor appointment.
