Dad,83 - is biopsy necessary ?
My dad , 83 had an elevated
psa
at 18. Dr ordered MRI which showed a pirads 5 with 2-3 bone metastases in the pelvic region and femur. Went to an oncologist who said to do a PSMA and then to start him on Lupron and bicalutamide. And maybe radiation for the bone met pain.

What's different between Xtandi vs NUBEQA® (darolutamide) vs ERLEADA® (apalutamide)
Hello Everyone, zytiga didn’t work so move to xtandi After two months, Xtandi did not work, and
PSA
started going up; I suggested to the doctor to prescribe other medicine ( NUBEQA® (darolutamide) or ERLEADA® (apalutamide) based on this group's recommendations.

Recent PSA test result no longer “undetectable.” What’s next?
After 5+ years of measuring “undetectable” with my
PSA
results I recently measured 0.24 NG/ML which I’m assuming my PCA is becoming active again. I see my oncologist on Monday, 8 Jan for a follow-up appt. Can anyone share with me what the likely next course of action will be?

New Developments in My Husband's PCA Journey
A repeat
psa
on 12/5/23 revealed his
psa

Need advice.
I had prostectomy in February of 2020, then radiation therapy a year later as
PSA
rose. Now
PSA
is 1.23 and the oncologist now is recommending beginning Lupron injections. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.

Constipation is a known issue with the Orgovyx
My labs are all stable and my
PSA
is stable at <0.02. But I'm now on 4 types of laxatives and next am planning on getting an enema and trying that. I have an appt with the doc Monday, my six month checkup. He said this is a known issue.

Diet for duration of ADT?
My
PSA
has dropped from 9.2 to 1.2 to 0.9. My Gleason Score is 9 in six cores and 6 in one more. I will receive implanted gold fiducials on April 12, and will start five sessions of SBRT on April 29, 2024. I am 85 years old.

On treating micro-metastatic disease
Thereafter just monitor the
PSA
for any rise, and use PSMA PET scan to locate any cancer and to radiate whatever spots of cancer that are found. This May I will reach the one year mark of my ADT and seriously considering stopping the ADT because of the side effects... fatigue, muscle loss, forgetfulness

My initial MRI and wait time for biopsy
PSA
rising slowly for 3 years from 4.0 to 5.1. The MRI indicates a pi-Rad level 4 lesion 10 ml, well defined with no infiltration. Either base peripheral zone 11 to 12 o clock or transitional mid gland zone 11 to 12 o clock. Will get the location cleared up.

CT urogram
Hi all, when my husband first had symptoms synonymous with Pca he was sent for a CT urogram, we never knew his
PSA
result, this came back OK. 9 months later an MRI and a subsequent biopsy showed he was Gleason 9 with widespread bone metastasis.

Delayed Lynparza (Olaparib)Reaction
I started Lynparza (Olaparib) on 5/19 (
PSA
172). By 7/5 (+7 weeks ) my
PSA
was 222 and it was decided to discontinue the drug, get a port, and prepare for chemo. At the first chemo appt on 8/10 (+12 weeks), the blood test showed that my
PSA
had fallen to 194.

ADT Holiday Coming To An End
After nearly 2 years of undetectable while on ADT holiday my 10/2
PSA
result was 0.1. Today, 10/23 my
PSA
was .19. Seems like a rapid doubling time. Sent result to my MO. Waiting for a response.

Quick follow up to PSA Bounce
RO called today and told me not to be concerned that my 1st
PSA
was 12 after original was 9 in March. He said that there are likely a few reasons.
