low back problems
I've been on Eligard and abiraterone+prednisone for slightly more than a year, out of a planned 2 years. I had 44 sessions of proton beam therapy ending 4/7/23. My PSA has been undetectable since early in my ADT regimen, and remained so as recently as 2 weeks ago. I began to have low back pain, sometimes

Tuff Nutt is back with lots of questions!
Oncologist nurse says I can take abiraterone an hour afterwards, then wait another hour for
protonix
which requires 30 minutes before food. It’s 930 to 10am before I can eat. Anyone have these venous ablations and your recovery? 5.

Specialty to start with?
Originally joined group because 55 yr son diagnosed with stage 4 PCa. Been tracking my own PSA for a few years and it is now 18.5. Due to this group and other reading I am pretty well versed in treatment alternatives. I am 77 and if I do any treatments I would lean toward proton therapy. I had an

Proton Therapy
I just finished my second week of Proton Therapy at the Univ. of Oklahoma Stephenson Cancer Center. Drinking liquids pass through me quick and I pee frequently now. Last night my left hip hurt some. Other than that I feel good...Onward!

Maca Root Supplement
I finished Proton Therapy for Gleason 9 Prostate cancer on December 2, 2022. This included six months of androgen deprivation therapy that ended December 15, 2022. Is there any danger to my prostate if I begin taking Maca Root supplement?

better options
Have lost faith and patience with husband's current docs, they are now contradicting each other.I have enough airline points we can fly for free anywhere in us so I'm looking what would be best hospital /treatment center that has multiple treatment protocols where we can learn about treatments like Proton

Had somewhat of a productive day
My gerd has also come back full force trying
Protonix
instead of Prilosec because Prilosec seems to make my anxiety worse though
protonix
doesn’t seem to be working. Just trying to ignore the symptoms of anxiety and such though it’s hard especially with the sensations of gerd on top of it.

3 year old daughter with PKD
Hi everyone, I've just posted this on the Kidney disease page too so apologies if you're reading it twice! My 3 year old daughter had an ultrasound of her kidneys today and multiple cysts were found - I have to wait for the report to get more info. I was prepared for her having PKD as it runs in

PSMA scan results just arrived but interpreting them is difficult and no Onc telmed available until next week. Orgovyx failed two months ago
Any idea what this means or suggestions? Study Result Impression 1. Previous prostatectomy with no F-18 PSMA evidence of local recurrence or 2. Two F-18 PSMA avid presumed bone metastases, one in the right posterior third rib and the other in the left anterior T4 vertebral body. 3. No other F-18

Plain English for a layman please!
Not complaining, I know the doctors need their own precise terms and acronyms, but as a patient (even a reasonably educated one), I struggle to interpret what they're telling me in terms that I understand. The relevant parts of my PSMA PET scan report were: 1. Intense radiotracer uptake at the left

Newly diagnosed Stage IV Metastatic Prostate Cancer
I am 75 years old and have had Prostate Cancer for 16 years. The first 13 years was all Active Surveillance. Gleason Score of 3+3, PSA never above 12. Cancer was confined to the prostate. This all changed 3 years ago when my PSA rose to 12. I had a bone scan and a PSMA test showing the cancer

ADT or no ADT
Diagnosed with 4+3, mri shows 2 lesions in prostate only. Starting proton therapy soon, urologist and oncologist recommend 6 mos of ADT. The latest stody for unfavorable is a difference of .7 years?( hard to understand the study results). Trying to make the decision whether or not to do the ADT.
