Giving up work before retirement.
I have been asked to share my story to a new post as it might be useful for other people in this situation to read. I had to give up my business in 2016 because of my health. I was only 54 at the time. I had been struggling for a while and was on 30mg of Prednisolone at the time along with a cocktail

PMR or RA?
- He is currently at 3mg
Prednisone
- He is also currently taking Methrotrexate (MTX) - 2.5mg tablets x 5 = 12.5 every Monday - Stiffness and achy in the morning. Difficulty bending down and impossible to get up from kneeling without assistance. Symptoms generally ease in the afternoon.

Staying on prednisolone
Hi All, Would just like to know if being on a low dose of prednisolone forever is something that anyone out there is doing? I was on pred for 9 years and was slowly weaned off it, finishing in July 2023. To be honest I have had so much muscle and joint pain since coming off pred it would be a relief

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

Advice required
Hello, This is my first post but i have been an avid reader every day and have learned so much. I was diagnosed having PMR in September 2023 by my GP who recommended I take 15 mg of Prednisolone daily to see if his diagnosis was correct. To my surprise and amazement, I became pain free which was a miracle

weight gain after stopping prednisone?
I’m keen to stay off
prednisone
as the emotional roller coaster makes day to day life difficult. How long will these symptoms last? Has anyone heard of weight gain after
prednisone
?

Hormonal therapy and Meningioma brain tomors
Since meningiomas are hormonal sensitive I wonder if the years on Lupron and Zytiga with
prednisone
could of caused me to get this tumor. Are there others out there that have been diagnosed with a meningioma while on or after hormonal therapy?

Methotrexate Update
I was prescribed MTX a year ago, about 18months into my PMR journey, I reluctantly followed my Rheumatologist’s instructions and in October reported back to him with details of nausea, 3 days a week of pain, inertia and depression and a
prednisone
journey of 1mg reduction per month.

Going to start prednisolone steroids 😳
Therefore, i am now going to try
prednisone
! Hopefully it will work for me then I will start the Adalimumab injections. It’s all very overwhelming and the side effects are scary but I just want to have peace of mind and more control. Any advice would be warmly welcomed.

Strange nightime happenings
This only happened a couple of times when I was particularly stressed and since I stopped Prednisolone completely three months ago. I found I could not settle at night (or I woke up after a short sleep) and I felt like I could not breathe or get comfortable. I was only able to go to sleep when I propped

Basal Cortisol Test Result
I have recently had a basal cortisol test and my serum cortisol level is 296 nmol/L. I have an appointment with my GP on Wednesday to discuss. My test results says that this is normal but on reading information on the Internet I’m not too sure that this is entirely correct. I have found the following
