hi

I was started on imurel in November alongside 10mgs prednisol. with a view to getting me off steroids. The pains in my head have mostly gone and I am starting to feel better now. I did start on 60 mgs prednisol when first diagnosed with PMR 15 months ago reduced to 10 mgs but then diagnosed with GCA and increased back to 60mgs in July last year, been tapering since . Just wondering what other people’s experiences have been with this meditation. Thanks

Not sure you'll get lot of replies about Imural [ Azathioprine].

It is a DMARD similar to Methotrexate or Leflunomide which are used more often in UK alongside Pred as steroid sparers so you may get replies about them..

I agree with DL - azathioprine is rarely used even in PMR and even less often in GCA so I doubt there is much experience to be found here.

The only experience I had is that I found out I was allergic to Azathioprine, made me very ill.
