Urgent dental appointment for pain may need molar extraction should I increase steroids

I have reduced to 1mg prednisolone since October did take extra 1mg for a number of days over Christmas period as had to deal with a stressful situation and do a lot of driving was fine until now tooth has really started to play up , interesting started just before Christmas. Sought advice from neighbour who is a dentist initially had ulcer but as pain increased something else going on so need treatment. Have emergency appointment later today with another dentist as my dentist off sick. My question is should I take extra steroid and how much?

Tell the dentist that you are on steroids, mine was quite helpful and he didn’t advise extra Pred he also gave me anaesthetic without added adrenaline. Perhaps infection concerns?

Thank you for quick response I read before I saw dentist and yes have infection so on antibiotics

Whilst on pred, I had a tooth extraction with no extra, and it was fine.

I just had a tooth extraction with lots of painkiller shots and was fine during and after w no change in steroid dose.

I've also had an extraction. No extra Pred but the dentist was pretty strict with instructions to do nothing afterwards!

Not before seeing the dentist but take some with you in case.

Am on 20 mg pred and was informed yesterday that a cracked upper wisdom tooth (RHS) needs extracting asap. Any advice appreciated.

I had an upper wisdom tooth that was growing squint removed - no problem at all, easiest extraction ever. And a cracked upper molar - only slightly more effort though the cracked root was slightly reluctant.
