Expectations?
I was hoping there would have been a quicker improvement to my 15mg daily
Prednisone
. Am I being unrealistic? I would love to hear other peoples experiences please.

Any ideas for travel insurance for those with PMR
I have been taking Prednisolone for PMR about 18 months now. Have tried hard to taper but following flares have now been told by Rheumy to go back to my original dose of 15 mg and start again from there. Today has been my first day back on the 15 and suddenly I am pain free and feel almost like before

Low Diastolic Blood Pressure and Prednisone Reduction
Hello Everyone I'm not 'here' often these days as I seemed to reach some kind of plateau after about 6 years - after sitting on about 10mg of Pred for the last two or so. Apart from some intermittent fatigue I was feeling generally better with less of the 'blobby fatigue 'which was generally my main

update on subacute thyroiditis
I was eventually given a course of steroids as my ESR was stubbornly high (40mg
prednisone
) which was tapered off and B blockers to manage thyrotoxic symptoms. The steroids worked like magic and I’m now feeling so much better. I also started B complex vitamins and iron supplements.

Steroids not working?
I’ve just had a 5 day rescue course of prednisolone due to an asthma flare. However, my peak flow is still only about 70% and I have an itchy, scratchy throat and cough. I don’t actually have a cold so I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ve never had a course of steroids before where it hasn’t made me completely

omeprazole query
is it advisable to keep taking Omeprazole before taking prednisolone as my doctor prescribes, or would breakfast eating beforehand be as effective? (In the interests of taking less drugs than absolutely necessary).

Extra pred worked
So.....yesterday (Fri 20th Oct) my son and now DIL, were married. I took an extra 2mgs of prednisolone the day before & yesterday, and had the most incredible day. I was even on the dance floor strutting my stuff at 11.45pm! Just an extra 2mgs (and careful 'pacing') allowed me to embrace every moment

Getting off of prednisone not so simple.
what ails me I am convinced that getting ones adrenal glands back working as before
prednisone
might not be as easy as it sounds

18 months along
I started on
Prednisone
November 11 2021. The diagnosis was probable GCA. I remember writing a post on here detailing how crazy/busy my life. 101 things on the go at the same time. I received lots of replies about needing to slow down etc.

Time for Hospice
M.O. prescribed Zytiga plus
Prednisone
as last resort. Increased pain medications to help manage breakthrough pain. On 2/28, double-vision and breakthrough pain have increased further. PSA now 6.2. M.O. recommends hospice care.

Prednisolone increase: 0.25mg to 1mg
During wk 5 of my slow D-L taper from 0.5 to 0.25mg, bi-lateral shoulder discomfort started yesterday. Based on the knowledge gained here I have increased to 1mg and plan to stay at that dose for 5 days, and then drop to 0.5mg, sticking at 0.5 for a month at least before trying the last step once more

The Beginning
I have taken 1
prednisone
tablet and then paused. I am not having flares at the moment and am really wrestling with the future weight gain (which will put stress on my joints) and ‘moon face’. I just dont think I can go there yet.

Many Thanks
I’ve increased my
prednisone
from 4 mg to 9mg and gave myself an Actemra injection. Pain is greatly reduced! Thrush is still a problem but I’m working on it. Your support has had me dig down deep to find my own strength. Thank you all so much.❤️🌹❤️

Newly diagnosed metastatic PC treatment options
I will start treatment next week with Eligard and abiraterone+
prednisone
. Should I also start chemotherapy with docetaxel? And/or should I also start RT for the prostate and the 4 spots in the bones? Would proton therapy be advisable? I will be very grateful for any input.

Allergy to prednisolone?
Hi everyone I have severe asthma and was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in 2020 after taking lots of Pred when Covid triggered my asthma. I was just left on 5mg Pred for two years with no endocrinology involvement. I was eventually transferred to an endocrinologist who tried me on hydrocortisone
