After I completed radiation to my prostate they started me on zytiga and prednisone. For eight months it dropped my PSA and then stopped working. I now take xtandi which, unfortunately, has also stopped working. The Zytiga was okay but the prednisone was a bit of a problem. A bit of mood changes and spontaneous bruising but the biggest thing was the tremors. I am a dentist so the shakes were not a good thing. Ultimately I closed my practice and retired. I would say that in the big picture the Zytiga was no big deal so go for it. I hope it works for your dad. All the best. Gerry

Hi Sir, I hope you don’t mind my asking, where you ever recommended to take Xtandi or go for a chemo instead? Zytiga and Xtandi are very expensive in my location and at the moment, my dad couldn’t decide what options to take as sustainability of either Xtandi or Zytiga is our optimum concern. Thank you
I did radiation then Zytiga then Xtandi. They all failed. Now found radium 223. Hoping it works. Tell your dad to exercise like mad. It helps. I had better results with Xtandi.
Thank you very much, Sir, for the immediate response. I hope your new medication works well with no or less manageable side effects. My dad has finished 26 cycles of VMAT and PSA level didn't decrease at all. Urologist suggested Xtandi or Zytiga but dad is still on Bicalutamide. Onco suggested to undergo chemo first. Will advise dad to exercise more often. He plays golf once or twice a week but the VMAT kinda weakened his knees a bit.
