I’m still here!
I started out on 20 mg
prednisone
. For the last year or so I have been down to 1 mg. My rheumatologist doesn’t seem concerned about that. I have since been diagnosed with herniated disc and degenerative disc. I am currently taking my 1 mg of
prednisone
, duloxetine, and 650 mg Tylenol.

Is this the dreaded return?
Hi all, long time no speak, though I do read and keep in touch regularly. A bit of my back story…. Diagnosed in Dec 2018 with PMR then January 2019 GCA. CRP at diagnosis was 157 and ESR 118. It was a rollercoaster to say the least and for the support from all the fantastic knowledgeable people in this

what is the adrenal zone?
I've tried searching in FAQs but without success. What prednisolone doses constitute the adrenal zone? I am now down to 12.5 and notice a tendency to weepiness that I didn't have before. I went to 12.5 daily last Thursday, after 2 weeks of 15 mg and 12.5 mg on alternate days. At the start of the

I’ve been off prednisolone for almost a year now and I’m really, really stiff in the mornings and I literally hobble out of bed. During the night I wake several times with throbbing pain deep in my leg muscles and also sometimes in my arms. I feel as if it sometimes spirals round my groin and legs so

Going to start prednisolone steroids 😳
Therefore, i am now going to try
prednisone
! Hopefully it will work for me then I will start the Adalimumab injections. It’s all very overwhelming and the side effects are scary but I just want to have peace of mind and more control. Any advice would be warmly welcomed.

Driving agony
Hi, I have just been diagnosed with PMR and have started on Prednisolone. Whilst I have some symptoms of PMR (sore shoulders/hips I feel there is more going on. I can’t sit down or drive for more that 5mins before searing pain (which I think is sciatica) sets in down the back and sides of my thighs

2 months into PMR, tried cutting back pred again, get pains but not PMR symptom pains?
Could my PMR have improved, so I could get by with less
prednisone
? Taking 10mg and 10mg split dosing, I have been close to 100% perfect.

Tapering of prednisolone
now down to 2 mg from starting on 50 Aug 22. Have followed Dr Muktyar . Is it normal to feel so lethargic now on such low dose. Barely have energy, strength to move, do anything. Pain in left leg still there mornings especially. I felt a lot brighter when I was taking higher doses but it caused

Methotrexate Update
I was prescribed MTX a year ago, about 18months into my PMR journey, I reluctantly followed my Rheumatologist’s instructions and in October reported back to him with details of nausea, 3 days a week of pain, inertia and depression and a
prednisone
journey of 1mg reduction per month.

Low Carb From the Start!
I DO wish I had started eating low carb from the moment I took my first
Prednisone
tablet. I have gained SO much weight I am scared to weigh myself. I think my thinking was "I am going to gain weight anyway -may as well go for it!"

Starting Med Today
I've never taken any meds before other than the occasional antibiotic and
prednisone
for acute conditions. The list of side effects on the Mayo Clinic website are horrifying.

trying to be brief . Diagnosed with PMR last week after approx 2 months of symptoms, ie really stiff in the morning , neck , shoulders , tops of arms and thighs . Understand this is typical , but can’t find info on other random issues like small pockets of pain in various parts of the body , tingling

Hi. I have always valued all the contributions on this site since I was diagnosed with PMR and GCA in October 2021; this is my first post. Last December I had a PET scan as my ESR and CRP had rocketed ( ESR 102 and ESR 72) and I was definitely in flare mode with increased stiffness and pain. I was put

Polymyalgia Rheumatica
I developed PMR in January 2015 and still struggling can’t get lower than 4.5mg
Prednisone
. Consequently I had to retire sooner than I wanted to. I have more bad days that good so difficult planning things as if I’m having a total fatigue day I just cannot muster up any enthusiasm or energy.
