day 12: Prednisolone beginning to make a difference!
It’s Day 12 of my steroid trial to see if this is PMR (am on 15mg prednisolone) …. this isn’t a question but I just wanted to share that I woke in the night feeling something was different / inflammation not kicking in … and I woke just feeling a bit achy but able to leap out of bed, (well not leap

2 years into Stage 4 Treatment
He started on Zytiga, Lupron and
Prednisone
and received 20 treatments of radiation to a cumulative dose of 60 Gy. Overall he has tolerated the treatments well and is feeling good and his PSA has remained undetectable.

High dose Prednisolone and effects
Hi, I was diagnosed with PMR, 8 years ago and was down to 2mg of prednisolone, however 3 weeks ago I ended up in A&E being told I’d developed GCA, after CT head scans and blood tests. Also had a temporal artery biopsy. I was prescribed 60mg of prednisolone, tapering gently so still on 50. My problem

10 year PMR anniversary! A new drug for me called Etanercept being advised.
Originally 'diagnosed' with PMR in 2014, initially controlled with prednisolone and then Methotrexate introduced in 2018 after I queried my diagnosis and treatment plan. A PET scan in 2018 by my new Rheumatologist satisfied him that I had PMR. Leflunomide trialled but did not work for me. My aim is

Hi, I received a letter from my Rheumatologist saying that my cortisol levels are normal following the Synacthen test 2 weeks ago. It says it is now safe to stop taking steroids. My question is, as i have been on steroids for over 5 years should i just stop or continue reducing. I am now taking 2.5mg

Back pain and spasms
I was diagnosed with PMR in 2020. I have been on prednisolone since then trying to type it off but only actually managed to get off of the drug for about three weeks before having to restart. I’ve only really had pain in my lower body and legs, only occasionally in my arms. Recently I have had acute

zytiga and me
After I completed radiation to my prostate they started me on zytiga and
prednisone
. For eight months it dropped my PSA and then stopped working. I now take xtandi which, unfortunately, has also stopped working. The Zytiga was okay but the
prednisone
was a bit of a problem.

PET scan results and thoughts please :-)
Hello everyone. I haven’t posted for a while and I hope you are all keeping well. I recently had a PET scan which showed absolutely no inflammation in my body and no tumours. The scan was done because I cannot seem to get below 5mg of Prednisolone without flaring and the rheumatologist felt there

Any advice on questions to ask GP at review of 1 week prednisolone trial?
I’ve just done 1 week trial on 15mg Prednisolone (which has eased symptoms of PMR to some extent). GP will call tomorrow to review and presumably come up with plan for future treatment. I’ve made notes over past 7 days to go through with him but I wondered if there are particular questions I should

Inflammatory reaction to sugar and carbohydrate ?
did I read somewhere on this site that people with PMR and or on prednisolone can develop a reaction to carbohydrate ? One of the first things I recall about this journey was feeling very dodgey after sucking some butterscotch sweets on an empty tummy. That was before I was diagnosed and given steroids

Struggling with flare/withdrawal
Would welcome your advice again.Brief recap .. been on Prednisolone since October 2022. Consultant started me on 15mg and advised to reduce by 1mg per month. Dramatic response to pred which went a long way in clinching diagnosis. Had a relapse last May/June at 4mg. Felt dreadful. Saw GP. Ended up going

Medication for Vasculitis
Hi. I have had Vasculitis for four years and my current medication is Prednisolone 5.5 mg daily and Methotextrate Injection 25mg weekly. Following the onset of my illness I now have to use a wheeled walker to get around and can no longer drive a motor vehicle.
