From Prednisone to Morphine
I was wondering if anyone had been offered Morphine as an alternative to
Prednisone
? It’s been suggested to me by my new Rheumatologist recently. He’s questioning my diagnosis of PMR & suggests the pain is due to “wear & tear”.

Holiday advice
I currently take 6.5mg of
prednisone
and under control but will travelling make things worse as I feel it on a 2-hour drive let alone a 4.5-hour flight and then an hour and a half transfer? I have read on here that taking a higher dose of
prednisone
before flying helps?

Prednisone
. I have requested a sedative when having this procedure (it’s a day appointment) as I get panic attacks when having this procedure in the past (before

Masks during moderate air quality?
The last time I had an asthma flare and ended up on
prednisone
. I’m hoping to avoid that this time and wondering if masks help. Or does anyone have advice on tips to mitigate moderate air quality? Thanks!

With humility and respect, some PMR lessons learned
- I am finding that with the cessation of
prednisone
, some of my osteoarthritis symptoms are a little more severe. I think
prednisone
, even low doses, must mask some of the osteoarthritis symptoms. - Keep reading the posts on this site.

On prednisone taper
For 2 days Ihad no
prednisone
, but when I discovered PMR, I started taking 20 mg of
prednisone
(I had some from a previous condition that I hadn’t taken). The pain went away instantly. I saw my primary doctor on January 31, when he told me to try 10 mg.
