Help with DIO1/DIO2 DNA results
Evening all! My DNA results have highlighted genes DIO1/DIO2 as BAD. This must be why previously I felt so awful on T4 only. I currently take 150mcg T4 and 20mcg T3 and can function, but there’s so much room for improvement. Would I now benefit from T3 only? I also previously had T3 mono- therapy (

Anyone had radioactive iodine ?
Hi All, I've recently seen private endo consultant. I was hoping to come off carbimazole as I believe 50% of people can do without it about 2-3 years as sometimes the thyroid corrects itself. I'm only on 5mg daily. Unfortunately recent blood tests show by thyroid is now overactive so been requested to

Painful injections
I have a question I am beginning to believe the horrible pain I feel about 2-3 minutes after and injection that lasts for about 45 minutes is from the cleansing solution??? I never felt this before my dr office went from numbing gel drops to numbing liquid drops that do not last as long or work as well

Effects of radioactive iodine on hypo condition
I need info and advice! A friend of mine is about to have radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism. I have a longstanding hypothyroid condition (originating from Hashimoto's) and take Levothyroxine daily. I have been unable to find any information about the risk to me of contact, both directly

Diagnosed with Graves' disease 5yrs ago had RAI now on levothyroxine 100mcgs daily . Have read some conflicting reports on taking Iodine . Should I be taking it ? My blood results are within normal rang with the exception of T3 which is 3.01 a little low .

Thyroid and Adrenals both, how to heal?
My main issues right now is this debilitating fatigue, and general weakness, both mental and physical. I get tired from just thinking (or remembering even, processing info, etc) from taking my Dog out for a walk, from reading a few sentences, doing easy, basic mundane daily tasks. It’s like this constant

Anyone here had RAI done for Graves?
I was diagnosed with Graves on july 2016 and took carbimazole for 3 months only. I was on remission after that until January this year. I dont have Goiter or eye probelms. Now I am hyper again and my specialist suggested RAI. Any ideas about RAI?

Iron deficiency is associated with Hypothyroxinemia and Hypotriiodothyroninemia in the Spanish general adult population: Di@bet.es study
Interesting - patients found to have reduced FT4 and reduced FT3 associated with lower ferritin levels. But without change of TSH. Surely, if the TSH test is so exquisitely sensitive and is the best test for hypothyroidism, it would reveal the lower FT4 and FT3 levels regardless of ferritin level?

So confused! Can anyone help me make sense of blood results & advise on supplements?
Hi All, so a couple of weeks ago I was told my thyroid was a little underactive and prescribed a low dose of Levothyroxine. (25mcg). I assumed it was my TSH the GP meant but I got my blood results and that and my T4 are fine, T3 is a little low. I don't understand, reading other people's experiences

Options after Carbi and PTU caused neutropenia
My husband has got Graves’ disease and he is also one of extremely rare cases who reacted to both drugs with white cells drop. I still struggle to get my head around it how come he is one of these very few people. After last blood test, his cells were below range so he will be closely monitored again

Omega 3 anyone?
I have dry eye particularly dry cornea, for couple of years. Also bletheritis. I use drops 3-4 hourly. I know dry eyes can be worse post meno ( that’s me) and hypo. Has anyone used omega 3 with good results? Is it ok to take with hypo ie does it have iodine contents? Please advise thanks

T3 out of stock
My usual supplier of T3 is out of stock and I am running low. Would be grateful if anybody could pm me with details of reliable supplier. Getting really fed up with having to jump through hoops of fire to obtain the only medication that makes me feel well after RAI treatment to my thyroid. I know there
