Hi All. (Just FYI, diagnosed Graves & hyper Jan 21. RAI June 21. Thyroid and the Menstrual Cycle?
When I was first diagnosed with Graves diseases my periods had practically stopped. I had no period for almost a year thinking the menopause was to blame. I started Carbimazole and reacted badly to it and had Rai. Soon after I started Levo. My periods have often been on the heavy side, but after having

Hi Everyone Just to give you a brief history, I was diagnosed with Graces Disease in 2007, I had RAI treatment in 2008. Magnesium CAUSING muscle cramps
Forgive the capitals. I have found the sweet spot for magnesium supplementation for constipation and its about 600mg split between 2 doses of 1/4 ts oxide but its also unfortunately causing me muscle cramps and dry eyes to the point I can't wear contact lenses during supplementation. I have tried many

Rai question
I'm just wondering about RAI (not relevant now but I'm doing research for future) when you have toxic nodules. Is it true that the radioactive solution just kills the nodules or is the whole thyroid destroyed? Does hypothyroidism always happen? If you had no TED before is it safe in terms of eye issues

Iodine avidity in papillary and poorly differentiated thyroid cancer is predicted by immunohistochemical and molecular work-up
In order for radio-iodine treatment to work, the radioactive iodine has to be taken into the target tissue. "Avidity" is how strong the uptake of iodine into the tissue is. The higher the avidity, the better at absorbing iodine, and the more likely the treatment is to be successful. Hence understanding

CLL History
When I was first diagnosed the names we followed with great care were Dr Kanti Rai, Dr Terry Hamblin, and Dr Michael Keating. These men were the true pioneers in diagnosing CLL and providing some relief from this disease, about which little was known previously. Thus it is with sincere thanks that

Radioactive Iodine
Hi. I'm nearly 70. male. Previously well, 4 months ago I developed palpitations. Turned out to be atrial fibrillation. Bisoprolol stopped it. They took an armful of blood and amongst all the normals my TSH was unrecordable, T3 26 (3.3-6.1) T4 49 (11.5-22.4). With Carbimazole my T3 is now 5.1 and

Iodine?
I am very concerned for my fiancé who seems to be aging in front of my eyes. He is always cold, his hair is falling out, he is gaunt, and his memory has diminished, he will be 60 in a few months. I watched a video last night with Richard Vobes and Clive de Carle a Nutritionist, he talked about iodine

Continuing problems after RAI treatment
Fifteen months ago I had RAI treatment to destroy my thyroid as the Consultant said it could no longer be treated with carbimazole as it was affecting my white blood cell count. So eventually, despite not wanting to, I had the treatment. As I had had an underactive thyroid for 12 years before it changed

What is the prognosis for someone with Graves’ disease?
Hi All, I have some questions about the prognosis for someone with Graves’ disease. How would Graves’ disease likely progress if solely treated using anti-thyroid medication such as Carbimazole? This is the route I am taking. I know it’s an autoimmune disease so there will be flareups and periods

Like everyone, I'm trying desperately to get my antibodies at an optimal range. I currently take 75 mcg of Tirosint and also something called T-150 by Xymogen, which my functional doc prescribed. (It's basically a bovine, multi-glandular, mineral, and herbal formula to support healthy thyroid function

is iodine in almond milk a problem
I’m sorry if I’m making too many posts here. I’m happy to be redirected if better. I just noticed that my almond milk says it contains iodine. Does this mean I should avoid it? I’m just trying to have a life detox of all things bad for thyroid.
