Blood test results to consider

Hello everyone. I haven’t posted for a while as I have been quietly and slowly reducing my Prednisolone using the tapering plans on this site. I am now down to 2.5mg and preparing to begin slowly reducing to 2mg. I recently had a full blood count which was all within the normal range apart from these two results.

Neutrophil count high at 7.26.. Mean corpus (MCHC) high at 354

ESR and CRP are within normal ranges.

could anyone throw any light on these to results? Should I be concerned? 🤔

Thank you and best wishes to all.

Neutrophils can be raised when you are on steroids. Normally I would say an MCHC of up to about 360 was normal - but obviously your local lab has a lower top of range. However, I doubt it is very high. The computer flags anything outside the figures set - even 0,1 outside will be flagged though a human would realise it is insignificant.

Mine are always in the higher range too - but nobody seems that worried about it.
