Pegasus, Hu and Iron
I also have issues with anaemia as this affects my restless leg syndrome but as my haematocrit had got to .49 I had my second only
phlebotomy
but a reduced one to try to take this down but not drain my iron too much further as the restless leg, as it gets worse, interferes with my ability to sleep.

Phlebotomy and reducing counts
I was started on hydrea a baby aspirin and
phlebotomy
every 2 weeks. I thought my blood counts would come down very quickly but it’s only gone down 1 point . I am fearful they will want to increase the hydrea ............ If anyone has some words of wisdom it would be appreciated!

Organising my private blood test
They would send me another free kit but I’ve order a
phlebotomy
kit . The BMI clinic open at 9, (walk in). please could anyone help with timing of my Levo dose Does 24 hours before test mean 24 or how much after this is ok? I usually take it around 4.30 when I wake.

Iron deficiency and PV(phlebotomy)
Hi all,Has anyone had any experience of hepcidin therapy instead of repeated venesections to control the HCTor instead of cytoreductive therapy etc. This could prevent the iron deficiency? Thankyou for any feedback on this

How I've Been Handling PV
I highly respect this forum and the sharing of experiences. I would like to share my experiences. I have had Polycythemia Vera for over 15 years. I am 79 years old. I have taken HU a few times when my platelets rose to 1,500,000.I am a firm believer that food is medicine and do not take medication unless

Hemochromatosis
We see the oncologist next week to find out more about liver and I’m sure he will start
phlebotomy
ASAP and do a biopsy of her liver. I’m confused about the liver being so bad, she is not a drinker . Thank you

Update 5.7
I am choosing to wait until the next CBC to see how things go and then do a
phlebotomy
if the HCT creeps up more. Like all things MPN, it is all a balancing act. We just have to find the right balance for each of us at any given point in time.

Suppressed TSH
Hi guys, my endo is trying to lower my dose of T3, she's says because of suppressed T4 which apparently has been suppressed for years before taking T3, this blood test was not for endocrinology it was for something else but the endo blood test was on the
phlebotomy
system so that got done without me

Update 5.5 - Good News
I may have time for the PEG to kick in and move towards goals without needing another
phlebotomy
(given how slow HCT has been creeping up). A bit more good news is that some of the kidney numbers are looking better (eGFR = 85, 76). Uric Acid came back at 5.7 - WNL.

Hi everyone, I was recently diagnosed with p-vera. Have been treated by a local hematologist/oncologist with expert consult from doctor at Weill Cornell. Seems like a good combination. Update 5.0
I saw the MPN Specialist on Wednesday to review my status and treatment plan. I have been having issues that the doc agrees are likely related to chronic iron deficiency from the phlebotomies. There are of course, a host of secondary symptoms that the MPN Specialist also noted are quite common with
