Running out of road....
... I've got a consultation with my oncologist tomorrow. I've huge respect for him - he's been with me throughout this 'journey' from initial diagnosis 14 yrs ago. But, he tends to follow SOC (although will support me in straying from the path. I'd welcome some suggestions before I talk to him. My situation

I am back again sorry if I wrote this last night.
almost a month ago I had a cardioversion and it was amazing. I have been dealing with a heart rate in the 150s since the end of April. When I woke up from the CV it was 82. I actually had a smile as I awoke. I did not even know my heart rate was down yet so maybe it was the drugs lol but I felt happier

INTERCEPT IS ENDING CLINICAL TRIAL
I have been participating in Intercept's clinical trial for Ocaliva's use for the improvement of liver fibrosis. When the FDA voted against the approval of the drug last week, Intercept announced it will be discontinuing all R&D for NASH treatment. This is a grave disappointment.

Metoprolol
I have a CT angiogram tomorrow at 0830 and have been given two tablets of Metoprolol (50mg) to take 12 hrs and then 2hrs before the procedure. This is apparently to slow the heart down (to below 60bpm). I rang the hospital and told them that I already take Sotalol and my heart rate is generally slow

Was there a trigger for your symptoms Mine was likely the death of a loved one 🥹
my symptoms all started after the death of my dad at the end of 2019 - I first started to take them ‘seriously ‘ in feb / March 2020 . Although the diagnostic process was long - as most of you will know - the consultant felt it was likely that this Emotional trauma was my trigger . Just wondered

Sister likely has endometrial cancer
Hello everyone, I have been a member of healthunlocked since 2014 when I was diagnosed with CLL. I noticed that my sister's belly was getting quite big so I made her get an ultrasound. She had a CT scan on Thursday night and although we haven't received the results yet, it is more than likely that

update / nurse
hi all, well had chat with nurse today and she said my bisoprolol was such a low dose it was not helping me, so going back on my evening one and if that doesn’t help up the flecainide. It’s not what I wanted. All my problems are coming from my left atrium, the rest of my heart is ok so she said. I asked

Post Ablation breathing difficulties
Hi all! So, I’m 11 weeks post my (first ablation) and I seem to be one of the lucky ones with zero Afib symptoms since the procedure. Long may it last! But I’ve been having breathing issues ever since the op and wanted to know if others have been in a similar position? Generally my chest just feels

OVM 200 clinical trial on TV
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2375922-advancing-immunology-the-future-of-vaccine-innovations/ at 6.25 mins is a bit of info about the trial I volunteered for. The ‘shout out’ is for ovarian cancers so I may not have had an immune response but I have heard nothing formally except last weeks scans

Never Ending
I was only diagnosed a week ago, after a weekend of being in AFib, went to the ER. Confirmed. It's been non stop ever since. I am now on Xarelto and Metoprolol 50 x2 a day. NO relief. Most of my ECG readings show heart rate around 130-140. BP mostly ok--a bit high, but not awful. I find myself

AF taking a different direction??
Had an AF attack yesterday and it was terminated after 3 hours with my PIP 200 mg Flecainide and half a metoprolol tablet. This is about average and I have attacks every 7 to 10 days. After a few hours rest I went for a walk but didn’t feel great, lethargic and generally off par. I kept checking my apple

Pressure on center of back as in lying down or sitting against the back of a chair etc.
I have been diagnosed with AF and have a pace maker. Recently i have found it uncomfortable to put pressure on center of back and it brings on palpitations and short breath and an irregular rythm.I have an emay portable ECG . I could send a printout.

Dilated cardiomyopathy
Hi, My name is Charlie and I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy last year. Unfortunately last month I went into another severe ventricular tachycardia storm where I had to be put to sleep for 4 days, I've got a pacemaker and a defibrillator however I have been informed that I would be put on
