Amiodarone + AFIB
Hi. Just wondered if anyone had experienced any adverse effects of taking Amiodarone? I’ve just completed week 1 of the “loading dose” (200mg x 3 times a day). Whilst it has reduced the AFib heart rate dramatically (from approx 160 to approx 110), it hasn’t stopped the AFib, which has become

I have multiple issues: asthma,

Today I think I had an Af episode. I have paroxysmal Af, and have had 3 severe attacks in the past 12 or so years, each requiring evacuation to hospital for 24/48 hours, once by helicopter, oooh! I don't tend to usually get significant episode outside the big ones. My last was horrible, about 2am I

Hypotension
After several years with reduced afib after a relatively successful ablation, I have now developed some sort of hypotension which sees me landing flat on the floor on numerous occasions. Fortunately I slump quite gracefully so no further damage yet! I thought I had it under control........ getting up

conversion pause
Has anyone experienced a conversion pause when coming out of AF- like a brief second or two of syncope with a visual disturbance & a strange quite frightening feeling This has started after having to come of Flecainide as it was causing other arrhythmias.

when to take tablets
I have had my thyroid problem since 1992 and when I was just taking my thyroxine , when to take it was not a problem. Now I have atrial fibrillation and have to take 1/2 tablet of Apocard with a blood thinner 12 hours apart with food. I also have to take a beta blocker with food but not with the Apocard

Return to AFIB after 4 years
Had 2 cardioversions and 2 ablations four years ago. The second ablation had everything working great for the last four years. Have to take a lot of HBP medication, but all was manageable until about a month ago when AFIB reared its ugly head again. Got scheduled for and had another cardioversion.

Hi all, First time posting in this forum I have posted in the main BHF a few times. I'm currently waiting for an AF Ablation and recently had my preoperative assessment for it. The nurse kindly gave me a copy of my ECG and naturally I took to googling to try understand it ofcourse getting nowhere 😂

A Good Day's Night
AFib status: Permanent for at least the past two years. 75 years old. Medication: Apixaban, 5mg Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, 5mg Ramipril, Atorvastatin. No offers by my doctor of a cardioversion or an ablation. I have been fairly stable on those meds since it was confirmed that I had Permanent Afib.
