Questions
The time has come when I need to make a decision about whether to go with hemo or peritoneal dialysis. That brings up many questions. If on peritoneal dialysis do you ever get a decent nights sleep or are you constantly awakened with alarms pain etc. Is the machine very loud - I have a hard time

Carboplatin alternatives
I was diagnosed with Primary
Peritoneal
high grade serous
cancer
stage 3C in early 2021. I had 6 cycles of Carboplatin and Paclitaxel, radical surgery, two more chemo cycles then Niraparib for just over a year until it stopped working and my CA125 began to rise rapidly.

Feeling isolated & depressed
My 60-year-old husband is in renal failure, on nightly peritoneal dialysis, and on the transplant list. I've been feeling frustrated, anxious and isolated, and that often comes out in anger. Every day is the same: I work from home, take care of the dog, pay bills, do housework, and have dinner ready

Fibrin in peritoneal dialysis drain fluid
Hi all! I’m back again with a concern regarding my dad who started PD in July. Recently he is having some fibrin (white chunky strands) in his drain fluid. I did some research on it and it’s associated with elevated fibrinogen in the plasma which is furthermore associated with bad outcomes in all of

Dialysis / RLS
Wow, this sub is a lot more active than the Kidney Disease sub, one would think it would be the other way around. I guess RLS is a lot more prevalent than people think? I never experienced or even heard of RLS before starting dialysis but boy did it hit me hard. It's already hard to sleep while doing

Peritoneal cancer with no visible disease
Has anyone been in this situation with
peritoneal
cancer
? Apparently it’s quite rare so we’re trying to get a second opinion.

Peritoneal Dialysis
Do we have to bandage out sites for the duration of having it? I did not like the belt so I use the lanyards for my catheter; they are more comfortable.

Now been advised cancer has spread to both lungs 😔
Cancer
signs are now on both lungs, in my
peritoneal
area, and under my spleen (not the spleen itself). I am getting some pain in my lung area and it's really worrying me 😔 Surgery is still going ahead although my tumour has only shrunk slightly. 3 more chemos will follow.

Peritoneal dialysis and high blood pressure
I would really appreciate any feedback from those who are on or have been on PD. My 76 year old dad just started PD this past week. The nephro ordered 1 manual exchange nightly with purple bag (extraneal) but after starting this my dad’s BP has skyrocketed to over 190-210 systolic. His baseline BP before

Update on beginning home dialysis
Hi everyone, I just wanted to update everyone on what eventually happened with the home dialysis. I thank you all for your advice. I began the peritoneal dialysis last week. The nurse was very thorough, patient, and answered all my questions. By the end of a couple of days, I was able to do a manual

Switching to home hemodialysis
I have been on peritoneal dialysis using a cycler, which has been wonderful, for two years. Unfortunately my clearance has been falling over the last four months and treatment increase in the amount of dextrose has caused me to gain nearly 30 lb. My clinic has me scheduled to begin training for home

Five years later
Good day to all fellow warriors, I used to post as Arnie1970, but that account stopped working. After the initial scare of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, a lot has happened. Four grand children were born( two boys, two girls). I stopped working, and we traveled a lot. Even though I stopped writing.

hair loss
I was wondering what others experience has been with hair loss during docetaxel. I completed my 10th round on May 2. After my first five treatments, I didn’t really lose any hair, and then the last five it got thinner, but I still had a decent amount. Now, over a month since my last treatment I seem

Looking for vitamin C infusions in Perth, Western Australia without glutathione?
Dear all Vitamin C infusions were tremendously helpful for my Dad in 2017 when he was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer and underwent a prostatectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Now trying to find them again. Those I have found include glutathione which I think is not good with cancer.

After Lupron I have been having seizures
Hi, In December 2023 I decided to finally undergo treatment for my prostate cancer, Gleason scale 6, with a high PSA of 63 (or 48 on another test) I had had this cancer for eight years WITHOUT it spreading. But doctors kept warning (I would almost say harassing) me, so... I underwent one shot of lupron

How do I update my bio?
My bio on Health Unlocked website needs updating. How do I do that? I can't seem to update my bio from 2023. I'm interested in adding PSAs and testosterone quarterly blood tests from 2023 and 2024. My good new is that my PSA has been 0.01 "nearly undetectable" for more than a year. My MO said don't
