Typical!
How typical! I’ve spent the last few days telling everyone who asked that my asthma was great at the moment and I really felt like it was fairly under control for the first time in ages. Then last night I had some kind of allergic reaction to some air freshener in a taxi (or I assume it was that as

diagnosed with 'possible' asthma
Hi all, I am new here, and scared. I have had several bouts of supposed bronchitis over the last 2 years, always affecting my right lung. In October 2016 I had atelectasis, and was treated with ventolin as well as 2 courses of ABs. My peak flow is apparently okay, chest x rays likewise. The spirometry

Cough: Cold or asthma?
I caught a cold about a week and half ago. It's pretty much done now, except for a cough that seems to be worse. Everyone else I spread it to (at work, whoops) has a milder cough than mine. My PEF scores vary between good (twice this week) and just into the amber zone, so completely disproportionate

New Diagnosis?
Hi, I suffer from severe hay fever, and am currently on a blue ventolin/salbutamol inhaler due to suspected seasonal asthma (spent 2 weeks on prednisolone before being put on the inhaler) and have been for the past 2 months which has made a massive difference to me! Fev 106%
So I’ve had my spirometry today I don’t have the results but the lady running through my test did show me at the end. From memory the fev was 106% (how is this even possible?) and the score was 4 point something can’t remember exactly. The fvc (I think) was 96% and the peak flow was also 96% and if I

What next?
Hello All! I was diagnosed with "mild persistent asthma" this past April and am still having symptoms almost every day. I have improved since April, but now generally it's just tightness/breathlessness and productive coughing that lasts for about an hour every morning. I generally have no issue sleeping

Low peak flow
Hi, I have had asthma since I was around 13 and am now 30. Today I had to visit the dentist to have some dental work done under sedation however dentist refused to sedate me as my peak flow was very low apparently it should be at least 400 but was 250 is this something that I should be really concerned

Clematis
I wanted to reply to a previous post on this but couldn’t figure out how to attach a photo. I am having a bonzer Clematis year. The white one smells of chocolate. The Purple white one is a Passiflora that changes to a passion fruit looking thing. The last one is just lovely. I got one from my neighbour

Peak flow app
Hi lovely asthma community, I was wondering if anyone had found an app to record Peak flow, symptoms and medication? I’m hopeless with bits of paper and diaries and wondering if I could make records online. Looking forward to any replies and thank you xx

Return of childhood asthma/GERD
Hi I’m after some advice. Having had asthma since being 5/6 I got to age 13ish and stopped using any preventative medication just salbutamol on exercise/symptoms. Stared with really bad GERD possibly to be treated by surgery. Gastro surgeon asked GP to do spirometery and reversibility before surgery.

Cold and sleepy
Hi Is anyone else feeling cold this afternoon? I not sure if I am starting with a virus as I have been sleepy all day. Or whether it is a side affect of coming off steroid inhalers? My breathing and peak flow is doing well I am holding an even regular blow morning and night.

Peak flow
Hi,I'm just wondering for some advice...the last few days my peak flow has been 250/270...I just have asthma NOT copd. It's usually not overly great...maybe 370-400. It generally gets up to 300/320 once I've taken ventilin. Do you think I need to see my go? I'm on lots of meds...montelukast,ventilin

Short of breath, but good oxgyen sats and peak flow
Hello everyone! I'm dealing with the return of my childhood asthma. There are bits I don't really get, so I was hoping that this lovely community may be able to help! I feel like I have really struggled with being short of breath recently. Last week I was really gasping. Chest muscles hurt, coughing

zafirlukast and montelukast
Hi all, I have just stopped zafirlukast as this has been discontinued and put back onto montelukast which doesnt do great things for me. Is anyone else in the same situation and been switched to something completely different. I’m really annoyed as this has controlled my allergic asthma so well over

Hi new here.
Hi I am new here and looking for some advice. I went to my gp on Thursday because I have been having problems breathing and a really tight chest. The gp said she could hear any wezzing and did my oxygen levels they were 100% when sat down but dipped to 80% when walking. She sent me off to hospital thinking
