Atrial Flutter corrected in time to prevent more serious heart problems
While I was seeing my VA Oncologist during a scheduled appointment, he and my wife noticed that I was not being as responsive to my surroundings as normal. He listened to my heart through a stethoscope and then took me into another room across the hall for an EKG, where it was discovered that I was

Amiodarone after ablation
I am four week post ablation. A week afterward, I had an afib episode that had to be treated with cardioversion even though I was taking 120 mg of TR diltiazem. A second episode began a week later and they told me to start 200 mg of amiodarone, which has big side effects on many and takes six months

Is my FT4 too high to add T3?
I’m from the USA and glad I found this group. So I had a thyroidectomy for papillary cancer. I’ve been on T4 synthroid for 3 years. Various dose changes throughout. The goal is to suppress the TSH. No matter the dose change, my FT4 hangs at the higher range. In July 2021 I had central left neck dissection

Thyroidectomy / symptoms query
Hi everyone, It's been just over 3 years since I've been diagnosed with Graves Disease. After my first taper down of Carbimazole it wasn't long after dropping to 5mg EOD that I relapsed. My endocrinologist in the NHS said now it's happened once it's pretty much guaranteed it would happen again and again

10 days afib now finished HR too low?
After 10 days of seeing heart rate mainly over 100 but zooming up and down, it is now on the 50s and little energy to move. Presumable the Bisoprolol working too well. Is this normal? I am not faint or dizzy

Amiodarone as pill in pocket
I take Flecainide 150mg, Bisoprolol 1.25 and Xarelto 20mg every morning and this regime usually keeps me free from Afib episodes and able to lead an active life. However, about once a month my heartbeat becomes irregular and is often over 100, at these times my BP plummets My Cardiologist says when

Second Day Out From Cryoablation with Migraines and Afib Episodes
Had my first cryoablation the day before yesterday and on my second day at home. As others have shared here, I've had migraine with aura every day since the procedure and two today. I hear that these can continue for a couple of weeks or so. Also, a bit discouraging to see my Kardia detect Afib this

Raised liver enzymes
This followed a
partial
thyroidectomy
for the same reason in 1994. 10 months after the 2018 surgery, so by mid 2019, my thyroid levels balanced out at the required levels (taking 100 of levothyroxine). All other blood test results were fine including liver function.

Berberine - One way to increase Akkermansia in your gut. Curcumin helps the gut microbiome as well.
Increasing Akkermansia in your gut, helps fight atherosclerosis, which sometimes, subsequently slows cancer spread. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0753332221003802 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29202334/ and Akkermansia spp. were increased by the berberine treatment (Figure 1d

Time change
Does anyone else suffer from the time change here in the USA? I don't think that exists in the UK or other countries? For me, when the clocks are set ahead an hour in the spring (just this last Saturday night) or back in the fall, I'm a mess for about two weeks. It throws off my circadian rhythm. We

Anyone had RAI or thyroidectomy for recurrent chronic thyroiditis?
Hello all and happy holidays. I don’t expect a reply as everyone will be busy but having had a 2 recent thyroid ultrasounds, the consultant radiologist said I had chronic thyroiditis which probably has been going on for quite a long time (don’t I know it- 2 months off work and still waiting for my body

Melatonin and night time Afib. An observation
I have been taking 5mg of Melatonin on and off through the years to manage bouts of insomnia. Recently I have noticed that without taking Melatonin I am waking up with Afib through the night but if I take it before bed I'm sleeping through and not either not noticing the Afib, or not actually getting

Status Update Post-atrial Cardioäblation:
Had rapid atrial quivering/fibrillation develop in Feb '21 while I was focused on avoiding a second heart attack after having had a major one 9½ years earlier. Got put on meds to see if AFib could be managed that way but worsened to the point that by Aug, my heart was tracked at 244 BPM and I'd collapsed
