Magnesium and afib
About a year ago, few months after being diagnosed with afib and cardiac arrest, thanks to this wonderful forum, I became a gluten free vegetarian, stopped alcohol and increased my magnesium with eating more nuts and rasberries. I have been afib free since, except for when I stopped my betablocker sotalol

Thyroidectomy or Radioactive Iodine Treatment?
I am hyperthyroid through a multi nodular goitre. I was on Carbimazole for 18 mths and taken off to see whether it had sorted itself out. On my fourth quarter check after stopping my TSH has fallen and T3&T4 both gone over the top of the range, GP says primary hyperthyroid again. I ask the above question

25+ years with persistant AF, now possible AV Node Ablation
I am 52 live in the UK and have had permanent/persistant AF for I don't know how long as I only found out about it 25+ years ago by accident in the gym. I think they call it Lone AFib as historically I have rarely had any troublesome symptoms apart from more recently starting to get a lot more fatigued

Commercial Airline Flight Triggering Afib
Hello All — I was on a 1 1/2 hour flight this morning between Washington DC and Atlanta. About an hour into it, I felt palpitations and soon after we landed, I had a racing heart rate and what felt like Afib. I take 25 mg/day of Metoprolol to control ectopics, blood pressure medication and Xarelto

Digoxin advice again
Hi all I’ve posted a few times recently about AFib returning after Covid. I’m now on digoxin, 2 x Apixaban, and Bisoprolol 10 daily. Been in this for nearly two weeks. At first all was well, but I am now getting daily bouts of quite fierce AFib which are intermittent for around an hour. I’ll speak to

Afib starts between 1am and 2am
I have been researching the Afib at night posts, and went back and looked at the data on my phone, and i noticed that the 2 episodes from last year and 3 from this year mostly started around 1:45am. The only exception was the BIG episode in march which landed me in hospital, and came home with apixaban

67 yo. scheduled for July ablation. I have paroxysmal AF. My first episode was approx 6 years ago and I've had maybe 5 more in between my last episode in October. One before that was a year earlier. Sinus rhythm has always been restored within 12 hours. Presently taking Eliquis and Multaq (400mg

Thyroidectomy - Any Happy Stories?
Having a total thyroidectomy soon, and it seems like the only thing I find online for life after the surgery are horror stories. Does anyone have anything close to a normal life after a total thyroidectomy or should I only prepare for despair? Thyroid is 9.2cm x 6.4cm Have multiple nodules, one is

Confused about strokes
Hi. I am aware of what a stroke is and I have worked with individuals that have had strokes. This was many years ago when I was able to work! My question is…. Can a person have mini strokes for years and be unaware that they are happening? I had a TBI over 10 years ago and it left me permanently disabled

Diltiazem, memory and advice
Hello All! I am pleased to have found this wonderful community, although no one goes looking for a reason to join an afib forum... I was wondering if anyone else has had memory issues with diltiazem or other calcium channel blockers? Also, is there anything you wish you had known at the start of your

Digoxin as alternative to beta blockers?
Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of. taking Digoxin as an alternative to beta blockers whichI don't get on with on a daily basis as they slow my heart rate too much and leaving me feeling unable to do much. I currently take Apixaban (paroxysmal AF) and Losartan and Felodopine for hypertension

Bisoprolol with low heart rate
Hi, I suffer from heart palpitations but don’t get them often but I live in high functioning anxiety because of them. I have been given Bisoprolol to try but didn’t take it because I was managing them but they have gotten bad again and today when I was super relaxed I have had a bad run of palpitations

Persistent afib
What exactly is persistent afib? Note definition is that it lasts longer than seven days but does that include short every other day episodes that still end by themselves? Can anxiety actually cause afib? Thanks for any thoughts. Read about a nasal spray that stops ventricular afib in its tracks but

Bradycardia
Have just gone through 10 hours of fast afib, and now my heart rate is 37bmp and I feel worse than when I was in afib! This has happened before to me and I wondered if anyone else suffers with this? I don’t take any medication apart from anti coag, and I’m so glad that I take this.

Headache post ablation
17 days post ablation for PAfib and I’m starting to get headaches… unusual for me as I don’t even get them when tired or dehydrated … can’t remember last time I had a headache! I feel the ablation hasn’t worked as I’ve had 2 sessions of AFib lasting several hours each time. I feel my recovery is slow

Long awaited blood test…What do you think?
Im currently on 100mcg (T4) and 10mcg(T3) I did the test early, fasting and no meds until after test. I’ve been feeling pretty good for the past couple of months but I think my PSA is starting to go into remission after killing me for the past 5 years (Im also thyroid-less) I do take 2 immunosuppressive

Is this signs of progress?
I have just started taking daily flecainide after AFib became more frequent. I have a perfectly healthy heart and mild hypertension. I am awaiting a prescription for a beta blocker to go along with the flecainide. I have had a couple of AFib incidents since starting the preventative dose where Fibricheck
