GOING FORWARD
Yesterday I met with my EP for my two week follow up. The follow up is for my failed cardioversion. They tried three times to Shockett with no NSR. Yesterday was to be about what’s next. My body responds to things usually but does not stay for very long. I had a typical flutter up until two weeks ago

Dare I state that a homeopathic medicine stopped my AFib attacks!!!
How can a simple homeopathic medicine stop my AFib attacks that were getting more severe and much more prolonged prompting admissions to a+e, despite taking conventional medication to treat it? I myself cannot answer this question. In all honesty I don't think anyone on this site could answer it neither

Hi Diagnosed in March 2022 - partial mastectomy and 33 doses/days radiation now on Letrozole. Anyone with similar diagnosis and treatment have any advice on supplements or what to expect? Reading some posts where Letrozole "stopped working". Any information is helpful. Thanks so much and God bless

Propranalol or Bisoprolol
I had Afib for the first time at the beginning of December …and was put on Apixaban. I will be having an echocardiogram scan in due course. In A&E the doctor told me to continue with my BP meds of Indapamide 2.5mg and Propranolol. I had an assessment two days later and another ECG …by then

Another blood test result to consider
Hi, I've just done a bluehorizon blood test mainly for my vitamins (can't get this on the NHS yet, though I'm trying), but had decided to have my thyroids done as well. As a quick recap had a thyroidectomy last year due to papillary nodules, I'm currently on 137.5mg Levo only (I was on 150mg 2 months

Sudden hair loss - thyroidectomy 38 years ago
I have suddenly started losing my hair, I have a bald patch on the top of my head which I am quite alarmed about. The Gp is arranging some blood tests but thinks it could be due to my thyroid. I had a thyroidectomy 38 years ago, been on levothyroxine 100mcg for years and have been fine. So I am shocked

OFF TOPIC:,20 year old daughter in acute psychiatric clinic today due to increasing intrusive and suicidal thoughts.
Dear all, just needing a listening ear today, hope that’s ok with all you lovely and helpful people on this forum. We are understandably very upset today as our 20 year old daughter has voluntarily entered a psychiatric clinic today on the advice of her psychiatrist, due to increasing intrusive and

body heat and buprenorphine
Hi, I have been using Buprenorphine patches for 4 weeks and was wondering whether body heat releases more opioids into the system. When I’m really warm I feel spacey and drowsy. Has anyone else experienced this?

Happy 2023, bravehearts! A question on vagus nerve involvement....
I know there's massive hype out there about the vagus nerve and the treatment of any number of ills through vagus stimulation and care. Nevertheless........Was wondering if anyone's had any success with one of those wearable devices for VNS and if, at this very early stage of AFib - diagnosed as Paroxysmal

Gp intervention
I have my AFib under control after being prescribed my meds by my heart consultant. I take Flecainide, Apixaban, & Propranolol which controls my a fib. However, I have just realised that my Gp has halved my propranolol dose without consultation! ( from 80 mg to 40 mg) I am due to have a medical review

Happy New Year - Afib and Covid 2023
Hi all. I know we've all heard enough about having afib and covid. I have to give my take on it though. I've never felt so happy - so here's a positive post about the whole thing of the two together. I've avoided the bullet so far. Tested positive this morning for covid. 5 days of self-isolation with

Dilated left atrium and appendage. CT full results.
I asked for my full CT angiogram report so I can show it to Dr Hunter before my consultation about mini maze. And unbeknownst to be it showed mild mitral valve prolapse and dilated left atrium and appendage. As well as coronary disease. I feel like I can’t get a win ! Another punch to the face so

Atrial Fibrillation.
Hi I have had atrial flutter followed by a atrial fibrillation for approx 4 years. Medication I have tried has not been helpful and I take only an anticoagulant every day. I have bouts of af, of which I am fully aware, approx 3-4 times a week, when the heart jumps between 37 and 167 for 2 to 4/5 hours

Am I right in thinking I’m slightly hypothyroid? (Updated post)
Hi all, I’m likely due for thyroidectomy soon for my goitre. Following a hemithyroidectomy as a child. These are my most recent bloods, am I right in thinking I’m slightly hypo anyway? It might help me feel a bit better about surgery: September 2022: TSH 2.01/mIUL (range 0.27- 4.20 mIU/L) T4 9.8

Paroxymal Atrial Fibrillation
I was diagnosed with paroxymal AF in 2017 I was given 1.25mg Bisoprolol to start with and then in time, I gravitated to 5mg. Since last month the af went out of sync, I am now on 7.5mg Bisoprolol and the increased dose has not been helping greatly. On the 14/11 I had to go to A&E as I had chest pain.

Flutter 7 Days after Typical Flutter Ablation
Wondering if anyone who has had a typical atrial flutter ablation has experienced flutter in the days/weeks following the ablation and how things eventually worked out? I had a right-side ablation for typical atrial flutter a week ago. Last night I had a 2-3 minute episode of what looks to be flutter

Monster Returns
Without provocation (no triggers), I startled awake in Afib which turned into tachycardia and has continued for 48 hours now. So after a respite of nine months from my FOURTH ablation [& coming off flecainide (due to left bundle block), but still on metoprolol ER, amlodipine, and Xarelto], I’m beginning
