CMT11 and DNA test Hi, my husband is due to have DNA and EM tests next week to confirm suspected diagnosis. We do not know if anyone else in the family has had CMT, my husband did not know his father. He is struggling with having to pass this info on to his Son and grandchildren should it be confirmed

Gastroenterologist says a positive IFA & Parietal Cell antibody result does not mean I have P.A. ?! HELP & advice please
Just returned from Hospital Appointment to see Gastro, at request of my G.P`s, one who does not think I have a B12 issue, and another who will not agree to alternate day jabs without ok from Hospital because afraid of overdosing issues ( he quoted side affects from his BNF book ). The Gastro said that

GP does not do loading dose as per BNF guidelines due to pressure on appointment availability !1
Hi all, Finally had a reply from my letter to GP questioning why my loading dose of 6 jabs was over 6 weeks, not 2 weeks as per guidelines. ( I enclosed copies of EVERY treatment protocol ) and reminded him I had tested positive for IFA antibodies and Parietal Antibodies, and had neuro symptoms even

Living with CMT
Hi there, I was diagnosed a year ago with CMT, I struggle with walking, I can no longer wear flip flops as I cant feel them on my feet, both feet and legs very numb right up to my knees. I have pain everywhere, Dr has had to increase my pain meds, I don't sleep well at night, I struggle to climb stairs

homocysteine, intrinsic factor and Parietal cell antibody tests results?
Hi, I have been reading other posts and now have received my fathers results for the B12 followup tests. I convinced his GP to give him B12 injections of hydroxy 1000mg over a 2 week period back in September. His neurological symptoms improved dramatically, depression and suicidal thoughts disappeared

Dr doesn't believe positive parietal cell antibody bloodwork?
Hey guys it's me again! So we all know now I have very low ferritin and am on twice weekly b12 shots. Feeling alive finally! BUT, my stomach issues and not absorbing a lot of other vitamins well sent me to the gastroenterologist. He saw my blood work from my naturopath. I told him naturopath diagnosed

Gastrin test
Hi everyone, I posted on here a few weeks ago talking about some of my lab results and what they could possibly entail. Some possibilities were atrophic gastritis and pernicious anemia. I definitely have been diagnosed with barrett's esophagus at the young age of 30. The reason why atrophic gastritis

Can Hashis flare up ?
I thought I was doing well (always dangerous) I have the usual long back story of misdiagnosis of CFS then was lucky to see Dr Skinner got on the right path and have used both private and NHs Endos to get the treatment I need for my Hashimotos. I take nature thyroid 3 and a quarter grains spread

Parietal cell test
Hi everyone, I'm new here and had a couple questions. A little history.. I had the parietal cell antibody test done (3 times) and each time my test has come back abnormal with a reading of 113.5 or higher. My intrinsic factor was negative about a year ago and hasn't been tested since. My B12 levels have

Pins and needles after b12
hi there, so I was recently diagnosed as being deficient in b12. I do not test positive for intrinsic factor but for parietal cell antibody. I had a number of neurological symptoms that came on at once a few months ago-the main symptom being a burning scalp, then on/off dizziness and an on/off feeling

POSITIVE Gastric Parietal Cell AB/ Low Methylmalonic acid and Homocysteine.
My rheumatologist looked at my b12 levels last year along with some other tests and diagnosed me with PA. My family doctor disagrees because my b12 was at 319 and he says that is within normal ranges. I do test positive for the gastric parietal cell antibody 35.1 but he said my Methylmalonic acid

Will B12 skew PC and IF results
Hi, I have been having injections of hydroxocobalamin from my doctor every 3 months since I was diagnosed in 2011 with PA, level was 140. At my injection 3 months ago, the nurse told me that the doctors want all their B12 injection patients to have a parietal cell antibody test. This came back negative

Hemoglobin, iron, and vitamin B12 deficiencies and high blood homocysteine levels in patients with anti-thyroid autoantibodies
OK - small sample. OK - selection according to relatively low incidence other disorders. OK - hypothyroidism determined by in/out of full TSH range. But... the fact that these things are even being talked about as having connections is a plus.

Trying to choose a power chair and car, and getting bogged down.
First I must say I do not have access to Motability. I always worked from home and did not get into serious difficulties with my mobility until relatively recently, after I was 65 - so no DLA ; no Motability. I need a machine that will enable me to go for "walks" when I have driven somewhere. I am

Hard to swallow at times?
Hi there, I was diagnosed at 10 years old with CMT1a. I am now 39 and starting to see some of the atrophy I was hoping would skip me. :) Recently I started having some issues swallowing. It feels like I have something lodged at the bottom right area of my throat. I feel really bothered by it when I lie

Advice and comments requested ?
Hello to all my fellow Cmt sufferers in the UK : Does any 'Health-Unlocked' member have any advice, or experience, on how effective is the REVITIVE Circulation Booster, or an equivalent device ? This device uses, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) , where small electrical impulses are
