I'm new here, but been reading for a while! Really need help from all the knowledgeable people here!
My husband was dx with aggressive PC July 2014 at age 57 by 12 core prostate biopsies - 6 on left negative, 6 on right side all with high Gleason scores 3+4, 4+3, 4+3, 4+4, 4+5, 4+4. PSA was only 3.2 but had risen from 2.5 in only 3.5 months so PC was suspected. Due to high GS decided on RP using Robotic

My Journey so far since diagnosis of prostate cancer
I underwent an
orchidectomy
and the level dropped rapidly to 1.26 but then started rising. When it went out of range I was prescribed enzalutamide and this worked for about 6 months keeping things in check.

Phase 3 ARCHES trial - Enzalutamide + ADT
Press release below. {On a side note, I have used "ADT" in the past to mean classic ADT, because everyone seemed to be doing it. It made me uneasy, since Abiraterone is a form of ADT, and the androgen receptor antagonists, such as Casodex & Enzalutamide can be viewed as forms of ADT. In fact, I was

Why suffer the side effects of adt if you can get to 0 in 6 hours with minimum side effects? I'm BRC with <6 months doubling (0.06 - 0.27) post RP. I'm trying to get in the Progenic PET F11 imaging trial. Drs may not approve...they want Lupron and salvage Ra now! Your thoughts... thanks, Geo

Stage IIa Non-Seminola Testicular Cancer
I've just been diagnosed exactly a week ago. Had an orchiectomy done 6 days ago. Got my CT scan back today to hear it's spread to a couple lymph nodes in my groin. What can I expect? Share your stories, feedback, info, etc. My biggest fear is uncertainty, and your words of wisdom help more than you

Cancer and IVF
Luckily it was stage 1, he had a
orchidectomy
and a round of chemo in January 2018. We have been told that after receiving chemotherapy we are unable to have children naturally and IVF/ICSI is our only option.

Benefit of statin and metformin in the treatment of high risk CRPC
Hi everyone I have seen that many posts in this forum indicate that the addition of statin and metformin in the treatment of prostate cancer will be beneficial during hormone therapy. In my case I am on second line hormone therapy (Aberaterone + Prednisone ) for the past one year. I have undergone orchiectomy

Stopping Xtandi perhaps temporarily due to dementia
My husband started Xtandi 2/3/18 and his cognitive decline may be coincidental to It. MO thought it best to hold off use of it to see if there is improvement. This MO who we highly respect prefers to use Zytiga anyway and may start hubby on that when we see him in 30 days. The MO feels the disease

Sudden onset incontinence...any ideas?
My husband has been mostly continent in the 17 years since Rp. We are traveling on an extended medical holiday and he is suddenly needing diapers due to daytime dribbles. He has started a new medication Aricept for dementia but that side effect is not listed. We told the MO and his office ran a urinalysis
