My Journey so far since diagnosis of prostate cancer

When I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer my PSA was 525 and the cancer had spread to my bones. It was in fact the back ache which lead to the diagnosis since the previous annual checkup had been within range. I underwent an orchidectomy and the level dropped rapidly to 1.26 but then started rising. When it went out of range I was prescribed enzalutamide and this worked for about 6 months keeping things in check. However the PSA has now risen again to 34 and the cancer is more advanced in my bones , particularly the right iliac bone.

I had been in touch with experts in Australia and Singapore (where I live) to investigate the potential of Lutetium 177. Previously it was not thought appropriate but now I am due to start my course on March 27th. In the meantime I am in a fair bit of discomfort and have been put on abiraterone which I hope will be effective to last until March.

have you ever heard of docetaxel curing PCa in lymph nodes?

Curing?no. That’s not its purpose.

Surprised as Tall_Allen said that no docetaxel was used. I started from the similar PSA and a few weak mets in the bones. After docetaxel and 9 months ADT those mets are hardly discernible, tumor is completely gone and PSA is 0.5.
