statins & underactive thyroid
I had a cholesterol reading of 6.9 and was told this is too high. The nurse asked how I felt about going on statins although she said I am low risk due to my lifestyle & diet. I’m not keen on going on statins because I heard that they are not good to take if you have an underactive thyroid. Also was

Thyroid levels now normal??
So I've had 3 blood tests in the last 2 months due to symptoms - fatigue, joint pain, hair loss etc.... (I did post my previous results so please check my other posts for those!) The latest results now show my levels are normal but my TPO antibodies have increased since the last test I did. So now

well, in my last post I told how I had lost over 4 st in 12 months and my GP said it was down to my thyroid. But I couldn’t get an Endo appointment for 4 months. So I decided to see a private Endocrinologist. what he told me shocked me to the core and now I am so confused I don’t know what to do. He

Which ndt is the best in combination with levothyroxine?

Goitre and Spinal Surgery
Hi. I am awaiting Cervical Spinal Surgery but also have a multinodular enlarged goitre. The spinals team says the goitre needs to come out first before they can get to the discs in my neck. It’s all a waiting game at the minute. I have a very high anaesthesia risk too. Intubation is difficult for

Newly diagnosed thinking of trying metavive.
I’m a 50 year old male and I’ve been experiencing a variety of symptoms for probably the last 4 years looking back. I didn’t even realise the thyroid was such an important organ. I used to be in the gym out running regularly but probably for the last 3-4 years these symptoms have got progressively worse

Thyroid antibodies test

Where to buy ndt?
I'm on Levaxin since 2012, still having alot of symtoms and in sweden ndt is rarely prescribed. I've tried with my doctor and it's a firm no. I've bought it online before and got the links from helpful users on here. Can anyone help me with links to where you can buy ndt without prescription? Thanks

The results are in, over to the judges.
I am a 59 year old, 74Kg male, with no other comorbidities except mild lifelong well controlled Asthma. The tests on 10/01/2024 where all taken using the guidance given here, of no levy for 24 hours prior and no food/drink ETC before the test. The previous tests may not have been in full compliance

Daughter thyroid results
HiI am new here with a question for my daughter (19). She is really struggling with fatigue so much so she is home from Uni. Also feels sick, headaches, really cold hands and feet and very pale. She had low ferritin last year and was put on iron tablets for 3 months. She went for a private blood test

New paper linking mineral uptake and autoimmune thyroiditis.
This excellent paper (available) relates the value of minerals (well known to TUK) on thyroid function. No surprises but a handy lever to convince doctors of minerals' importance in AIT therapy. There are several papers in this research topic, and this can lead onto their access.
