How can you tell the difference between asthma and a chest infection?
Following on from the posts about antibiotics. I have looked at the useful information re: asthma and chest infections on the site and am still not sure where I am with it. I had an asthma flare up last week following a good spell and a decrease of Seretide 250 dosage to 1 puff 2 x per day alongside

Valtrex?
Hi everybody, I’m currently 2 months into O + V treatment; it’s going well, no side effects, bloodwork good. My doctor said I’m not at high risk, but he’ll prescribe me Valtrex as an anti-viral prophylaxis, twice a day, if I want him too. He’s okay either way. Hmm. Well, do I want him to? I dunno!

Any idea what this could be?
I’ve been told by the doctor genital herpes, however I’m not convinced as I’m on Zovirax cream and Valtrex tablets at the moment, but they don’t seem to be helping me. They itch but don’t hurt Thank you!

Is this going to change my retirement plans?
I have been told by a specialist that I have COPD and asthma. I was never an asthmatic during my youth or working life. Three bouts of chest infections, bronchitis? Flu? I never even went to the dr with it, this over a long life is not much. Then suddenly I started.I had lived with a heavy smoker for

Nasonex
Hi there, just been prescribed this for Hay fever. It's a nasal spray and I'm worried it might affect my T. GP says it won't. Just wondered if anyone has had any problems with this?

Ibrutnib
No. 4 years ago, I developed a bleeding problem while in ibrutinib and they were going to give me a different medicine. When they screened me for the new meducine, they discovered my cancer was gone, so, I didn’t need to continue with any cancer medicine. I do, though, get IVIG and I take Bactrim and

effect of nasal steroids on asthma
hello all, DS has allergic rhinitis and asthma and we have recently started a new steroid nasal spray (dymista), and have also tried Nasonex. it seems that these are making his asthma symptoms worse. His asthma used to be well controlled with low dose clenil modulate, but since on the spray he has started

5 month Cough
Hey guys, I've had this terrible cough for about five months now. It doesn't happen when Im sleeping but during the day I'll often cough up phlegm or dry heave from the cough. I went and saw my GP and they sent me for breathing tests and a chest X-Ray. Nothing showed up and my breathing was normal. I

Has anyone changed from Seretide 250 to Fostair 100/6?
I have just had my medication for my asthma changed from Seretide to Fostair as the nurse was concerned that long term use of Seretide at a high dose could lead to side effects in the future like diabetes. I’ve only been on Fostair for a couple of days but so far have experienced headaches, stomach ache

Bisoprolol and Nasonex (corticosteroid)
I have been on 2.5 mg of bisoprolol for 14 years following a heart attack. I had a stent and was also prescibed 40mg simvastatin, 5mg lisinopril and low dose aspirin. About 10 years ago I dropped the lisinopril as my blood pressure was never really very high and I was developing sinus issues (drip) which

Ocrevus 1st infusion scheduled!
O-day is Sept 14th. P.S. B/C I missed the opportunity for the Shingrix (shingles vaccine) and b/c O can increase risk of shingles/herpes, and after discussion with the infusion Oncologist, I am going to take Valtrex as a preventive for potential shingles reactivation. It's an option he uses with some

Hi. Anyone had experience of this nasal spray? I'm finding it hard to breath through my nose when I use it. Anyone had a similar experience. Can anyone recommend another nose spray?

I’m new here, I was diagnosed with Mollaret’s Meningitis in July 2018. I’ve been put through hell and back with tons of Lab work, 3 MRIs, 1 MRA, 2 CTs and a Spinal tap over the past 4 months and finally my Infectious Disease doctor got my results back from the lab tests he did on my spinal fluid and

Beware of nose sprays
So after 3 doctors I had to figure out myself that i was having major issues with my non steroid nose spray. I went off of it and went back to Nasonex. What an improvement! My mouth is getting back to normal now. So thankful! But my ENT had my sinuses scanned. He found a cyst or polyp and now I have

Just wondering. I am on/in a clinical trial with Ibrutinib and Venentaclax .I has exceeded my wildest dreams( i.e.when I started, my WBC was 414,000 and is now holding steady at 4,000). That being said, recently,my mouth has broken out with painful sores through out. My P.A. at MDA said this is very

Suffering with ear and jaw pain, fatigue and vertigo
Hi there, I'm new here, so hello everyone! I'm not sure if I want advice or just to share my woes really, so thank you to anybody who takes the time to read this. I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia a year ago and have been putting up with various symptoms. In October last year, I was put on the elimination

Restless leg syndrome??
Hi everyone. I am a 39 year old female. And think I might be suffering restless leg syndrome? It is more my feet than my legs which are bothering me. I don't get this every night. But when I do my feet feel very uncomfortable with a creeping crawling feeling . And I am unable to keep them still.

Hypothyroidism and Hypoglycemia
Hello Everyone I had a Synthyroid/Cytomel change about 5 weeks ago and I've been experiencing hypoglycemic issues ever since and I'm not sure if I'm having sugar issues now or if it has something to do with my medication change or from my recent shingles outbreak although I'm not sure how shingles could

Bells palsy
I am 14 years out of Bells Palsy. I went the route of valtrex, MRI, prednisone, etc. I had to tape my eye shut for 1 year and was out of work for 7 weeks. The things that helped me the most was cranial sacram work through my chiropractor who was very familiar with nerve issues and reflexology because
