Bisoprolol and Nasonex (corticosteroid)

I have been on 2.5 mg of bisoprolol for 14 years following a heart attack. I had a stent and was also prescibed 40mg simvastatin, 5mg lisinopril and low dose aspirin. About 10 years ago I dropped the lisinopril as my blood pressure was never really very high and I was developing sinus issues (drip) which my doctor thought may be partly due to the lisinopril.

I take my blood pressure regularly and on 2.5mg bisoprolol it is typically 90/60. I have noticed that if I use the Nasonex at night for sinus issues my bp in the morning can be 70/50.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

How often do you use it? I thought it was for short term relief of hayfever symptoms,

I find it quite an unusual observation. The much advertised cold cures that dry you up tend to also push up your BP - but this is not mentioned much!

Thanks for the reply. I use it perhaps 2 nights out of 5. My sinus issue is not seasonal but more of a frequent over production of mucus at the back of the throat. I use sinus rinses quite frequently. As my normal BP is low I have tried reducing the bisoprolol dose to 1.25 mg which results in an average BP of 110/65. Even with BP of 85/50 I do not feel dizzy. My doctor once said the lower your BP the better providing you don't fall over when you stand up!

for some like me, anything under 100/75 is falling over time anything under 90/65 and im at the point of blacking out. but we are not all the same! Id still though be thinking l need to at least talk to some one if you went under 85/60 unless you were a well tuned runner!
