Is this going to change my retirement plans?

I have been told by a specialist that I have COPD and asthma. I was never an asthmatic during my youth or working life. Three bouts of chest infections, bronchitis? Flu? I never even went to the dr with it, this over a long life is not much. Then suddenly I started.I had lived with a heavy smoker for years but I was often away at my job , although people smoked at work in those days. I always have had some kind of rhinitiis and I am seriously allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS. I have just been on a big caravan holiday, driving from Brisbane to the Kimberleys spending 12 weeks on the road. I have been well for most of the time, going on moderate bushwalks, swimming in waterholes, until this last week. Moving from Darwin towards Brisbane has brought cooler nights and different vegetation. I don’t know why but I have had thich mucus in my sinus and upper chest. I have coughed till I nearly passed out. Now I am using the steroid tablets and rescue puffer, as well as Nasonex. Also inhaling steam with eu It feels like an attack. I do have some antibiotics with me but am not sure when to crack tbem open! I want to go away again at the end of the year, but am scared this could get out of hand in an isolated place like in a National Park. How can I get this under control?!

Take Watson and Son 400mgo Manuka honey. I have gone from at least 3 chest infections per year to none for last nearly 2 years. Manuka Health is the same. I do not know other proper brands but there are many labelled Manuka honey that ti not have the same antibacterial properties. It works. Did you change your diet when travelling, for me dairy and potatoes / crisps cause my asthma to act up. They does make a difference and water too, you need to keep hydrated, help clear out the crap in your lungs using water to naturally remove waste in your body and lemon to help with thick phlegm ... makes it easier to cough up. When my asthma is bad flowers in the house are a problem but not all the time. They're the only things I can think id to help yourself aside from sitting up to go asleep when you're bad. Never go anywhere without inhalers is my only other piece of advice. Diet is key for me. Eat the wrong things and my asthma deteriorates.
