Inhalers!
There is a history of asthma n my family and like my mother I started suffering around the age of 50. I have a nasal drip and excessive mucus. I'm allergic to cats and pollen to some extent. After a long bout of chest pain although spit as clear and not infected my doctor has put me back on Ventolin,

Fostair NEXThaler
I've been railroaded into having Fostair NEXThaler by the Asthma nurse at my surgery , I've been on Clenin Modulute 250 mcg , salbutamol and salmetarol , 2 puff of each twice a day, for over 30 years ( back then it was Becotide and Ventolin ) and my asthma has been in control . I've just read through

Symbicort 100/6 versus AssiemEMite 80/4.5
Are these equivalent? I opened my new medication this morning and found when I peeled a multitude of labels of the packet this Italian job! A little further investigation with google, I found an Italian page similar to UK MIM's. Where with google translation it says:- AssiemEMite 80/4.5 "Each delivered

Hi all
Hi folks Hope you're all well as can be expected. I've been to the respiratory clinic today. I haven't got my fev readings yet they will post a report out to me. However they said my lung age 76. I'm only 48. I've been prescribed formoterol fumarate and cetirizine, I'm already taking monteleukast and

Spiriva
I have recently been dignosed with glaucoma and the consultant told me that the cause was probably my Inhaler. I have mild COPD and Bronchiectasis and use Spiriva and Salbutamol daily. I also use Mometasone nasel spray to stop the mucus in my nose going on to my chest. Has anyone else developed glaucoma

Mometasone for Sinus Pain
GP thinks my headaches are caused by my sinuses which is plausible as when i get a cold i always get pain here. He has prescribed mometasone and just wondered if anyone had any experience with this and did it give relief ? The headaches always seem to peak in the mid-afternoon and i'm suspicious that

Exacerbation of asthma
My asthma has been really controlled to the point of only needing a salbutamol inhaler from the age of about 8 till 2 months ago. I ended up having to ring 999 and having back to back nebulisers. I've been started on an inhaler with budesonide formoterol and fumarayr dihydrate. I'm still having symptoms

Waiting for a diagnosis
Hi, First time on here. I had blood tests (something unrelated) which showed low tsh so had to have further blood tests. I have the results but my hospital appointment is still a couple of months away. I have read loads of stuff and would be interested in other opinions from the people who really know

Mild asthma? No asthma?
I wonder if other people recognise this: - occasional flare-ups of probably fairly mild breathing problems; often no problems at all when just sitting and fairly out of breath when walking. - flare-up lasts about 3-6 weeks with fits of breathlessness mainly happening at night, rarely at day unless the

Advice Needed - Test result. IgE 1142, precipitin positive, other severe illnesses, no treatment?
Hello, Apologies in advance for the length of this post! As per my title, I would greatly appreciate some informed advice regarding a test result. Read extensively on aspergillus and my other medical conditions, but what I have read seems to contradict with the advice I am receiving from my GP + respiratory

Discoid Eczema/Nummular Dermatitis Advice
Hi everyone, I'm basically after management advice here, although I'll explain my condition first. I've suffered from a skin condition for a few years now. After the standard back and forth on the GP pathway, I eventually had a photo consultation with a Dermatologist who diagnosed it as being Discoid

Free Prescriptions for Asthmatics?
Am I the only one who is uncertain as to why asthma isn't an exclusion criterion for prescription charge payment? I guess I shouldn't be complaining just yet as I still fit neatly in the middle of the bracket that says, '16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education', so I don't pay anyway. But when I get

Somewhat belated introduction!
I probably should have introduced myself before posting about the woes of my asthma and commenting…sorry :) I am 17yo, biologically female but identify as male. Which kind of sucks but hey, that's life. I have 'hayfever', eczema and asthma (you would never have known that, would you?), and I suffer

formoterol(laba) and quick relief
For a project on asthma I have been doing some research on formoterol and I have found conflicting opinions on this medicine. One website said that formoterol should not be used as relief during an attack as it too slow acting where as another website said that is was fine to use and takes 1 to 3 minutes

Symbicort not Working Properly?
I have been on symbicort (alternating between 200/6 and 400/12 during flare ups) for the past year, which I know is a combination of formoterol & busesonide. Prior to this, I was on a clenil modulite inhaler (200mcg twice daily) which I believe was a different steroid (beclometasone dipropionate?) The
