Asthma's my latest diagnosis!
Hi all I've had all sorts of things since October 2012, including the flu (or something like it: all this is post-viral), post-viral hyper-reactivity, asthma (first diagnosis at GP), pneumonia, chest infections (various, 'treated' with antibiotics), pleurisy, HIV sero-conversion illness (after assessment

Asthma and feeling low and poorly
Good evening everyone, I bet many of you are finding it more of a strangle now as the wet and cold weather has set in. My asthma has really started to play up since Saturday night when my peak flow started to drop. On Sunday when I took my peak flow it was down to 320 when my personal best is 450.

Asthma Medication
Hi All, Sitting at home and struggling yet again I thought I'd try to do something to try to keep my mind off my chest but was useful too to me and anyone else with asthma, so I thought I'd put together a list of meds available for treating asthma. I have tried most out there and found the best combination

Fostair - New Inhaler
I saw my asthma nurse yesterday and she changed my inhaler to a new one ( At least new to me anyway) called Fostair. It's a combination inhaler - Reliever and steroid. I'm presuming the Reliever is Formoterol fumarate dihydrate and the steroid preventer is Beclometasone dipropionate. Just really wanted

can anyone give me some advice on Symbicort turbohaler?
Hi all :) Yesterday I was prescribed a budesonide/ formoterol (200/6) turbohaler. I used it last night and this morning and both times I've noticed a gritty feeling in my throat afterwards. Am I doing something wrong? It goes away after a few seconds but I've never used a dry powder inhaler like this

Hello all. About my COPD
A year ago it was found I had angina. Also it showed up that I had a heart attack but was minor so I didn't even know when it happened. I had a stent put in. As I don't drink alcohol, am reasonably slim and my cholesterol reading at the time was about 5.6 I put the angina down to smoking and immediately

Inhalers don't make any difference ?
I have 3 types of inhaler. A 24 hour one which is a powder capsule type.Tiotropium. Then a 12 hour one. Formoterol. These I have to take daily. Then I have a Salamol to take when needed. I tried a little experiment. I didn't take any of them for 2 days. My Sats stayed the same and I still got SOB doing

I have painful arms and I am buising a lot more than I have ever done before. So I went to see the doctor on the 22nd July and he recommended that I had a blood test, so on the 29th July I had a full blood test to check my bloods were all ok. My bloods came back as normal. I have been having to use

work and asthma
My asthma is really playing up at work at the moment I am getting really short of breath and I am suffering with a tight chest quite a lot of the time. I work with a lot of students with challenging behaviour and they are young people with special needs. I have a student who likes to run out of classroom
