We have attended 2 AIM at
melanoma
symposiums. I have talked about re challenging the target therapy since then. Very amazing speakers from MD Anderson. It was refreshing to hear how far treatment options have come. On a good note - we have vacation that he is excited about in July to OBX, NC.

Surgery
However, I recently was diagnosed with stage 1
melanoma
. This coming Wednesday I will be getting surgery and I am ABSOLUTELY terrified. My biggest fear is going under anesthesia. I’ve never went through it before and I’m so scared. My fear is the anticipation of going into it.

Conflict of interest to to administer leukapheresis for Provenge immunotherapy?
This is especially bizarre because URMC has an entire department devoted to immunology research albeit focused on, it appears, pancreatic cancer,
melanoma
and breast cancer. But the first stage of immunotherapy is always leukapheresis, so that procedure is done at URMC.
