Risk of secondary primary cancers higher after treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors
It's tricky to read, but here is my take away: we must be vigilent in monitoring our primary health in addition to
melanoma
because there are increased risks for persons with metastatic
melanoma
: " The overall risk of developing SPCs in individuals who survived the first primary

Has anyone received the Covid-19 Vaccine while taking Immunotherapy?
I am posting this more broadly since
melanoma
and other patients have been receiving this therapy longer than metastatic lung cancer patients like myself.

Don't tell a caregiver to stay positive: here's how to help instead
Donations to the

Research Foundation in honor of Wayne so more research and treatment could continue in the pipeline. 8. I hope this doesn't offend, but a delivery of 50 #FuckCancer barf bags made our day, and wound up useful in the car and home.

After all - Ryan’s
melanoma
has been relatively aggressive. The fact that he is stable right now after this many months is amazing. Even his oncologist expected there to be some spread. OH YEAH - no cancer anywhere else. Forgot to say that. Just in the elbow.

Bilirubin Spike - Advice wanted
I was looking for some advice on behalf of my mum who is currently undergoing treatment for metastatic
melanoma
. About 21 days ago her routine bloods indicated unusually high liver enzymes (ALT/AST at 1000+) thought to be medication induced liver inflammation.

CLL and melanoma
She thinks it is a
melanoma
and is referring me for tests/treatment - probably surgical removal. Hopefully, it will have been caught in time, and all be well.

While tumor markers such as urinary micro RNA for initial prediction of a cancer diagnosis, microsatellite instability and tumor burden have been useful in endometrial, GI and
melanoma
to predict immunotherapy benefit they don't seem to be helpful for prostate cancer.

Study identifies patients with lung cancer most likely to respond to immunotherapy.
In
melanoma
, patients with HLA-B44 tend to do well with immunotherapy, but in non-small cell lung cancer, the most common type of lung cancer, most people with HLA-B44 did not do as well as people without HLA-B44.

SOS, Does anyone have Mektovi or Braftovi leftovers?
She has
melanoma
4th level with 80 metastasis into the brain, Mektovi and Braftovi help her to live. But these drugs are not approved in her country. If you or your friend know someone who could help her get them for free or for small price if there’s leftovers. God bless you all.
