Madopar

I have recently trialled no dosage of either madopar /mucuna and didnt get much of an increase in symptoms. will try this again in a few months.

Hi For what it is worth, I take a table spoon of mannitol and 2000 mg of thiamine per day. I have no idea what brings the improvement. It is spectacular so I have no intention to change the posologie to find out ! Also take little dose of modopar 3 times a day

My husband was put on GABApentin, stilnox and madopar. He only used madopar once. He’s afraid to continue it. Although he did notice last night his legs were more restless without it . This process is so frustrating as he’s been withdrawing from opiates since one month.

His Neuro was amazed on his dosage of Madopar 2 and a half pills a day plus one Rasagaline and 2 Amantadine. He said after 9 years of PD he said most people are taking more but if it works well for my husband then he was happy with that.

So the neurologist currently prescribed, GABApentin, stilnox and madopar to use at this time. Not sure if anyone has experience with this. He has had extreme case of RLS

I have just been diagnosed with PD and have recently started on Madopar medication. I am still on a very low dosage and the nurse told me that it will take a few more weeks to reach therapeutic levels.

On Sinemet 3 hourly, Rasagiline 1mg and Madopar 62.5 daily + Neupro patch 4mg. Nothing new seems to have any effect after a couple of days. Additionally he’s been on HDT 1g daily for a year or so and I’ve just bought a Wellred coronet to see if that can help.

Hi everyone long time since I posted.Strange thing has been happening .Third and forth dose of Madopar doesn’t work UNTIL I have a snack after I’ve I’ve taken it! Boy then I’m really on for a 2-21/2 hrs. has anyone else experienced this?Very frustrating but can deal with it!

My husband's been on Modopar (BC/L) for 18 months now and still waiting for the honeymoon to begin !! He's finding it harder and harder to walk in the afternoon, due to overworking aswell. His doc who we see wvery 6 months to dictate the prescription just wants to up the dose (currently at 4 x 25/100

He was prescribed Madopar and azilect. He is also doing B1 and a myriad of vitamins. Just seems like he's hitting a brick wall, esp after 3PM and it kills me! Thanks for any advice Cheers Mel

I have tried the Madopar crushed and dissolved but it is detectable unlike the Mannitol powder which dissolves instantly and the Citalopram which is liquid measured in drops.

The package leaflets of the medicines Sinemet, Madopar and Stalevo (between 10 and 25 mg).

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had problems or no problems with Madopar (Roche) products available in NZ. I am thinking of trying their range - sounds like fine wines doesn't!

Aside from the usual meds I also take madopar. My neurologist has increased my dosage. I take 2 three times a day. Just wondering if anyone is in a similar position.

Just looking at the leaflet with my new supply of Madopar, and see that the lowest strength version contains Mannitol. Who knew? Would be interesting to know why.

I've got some madopar in the cupboard which I have used successfully for car & plane journeys and taking two in water gives about 2 hours of relief. I've also got a full box of Gabapentin which was prescribed a while ago but I have never used because the Temgesic was so successful.

I am on Madopar and I feel my thinking, reasoning seems to be dulled and slow... Anybody having similar experience?

Parkinson’s Madopar versus Sinemet!

I have increased my 50mg Madopar slowly from 3-6 times per day. Lately I have been taking one through the night maybe every second night. The extra Madopar has dropped my blood pressure to a very low level. Yesterday morning I blacked out totally landing awkwardly. I hurt both my hands.

My Dr just prescribed Madopar in a small dose to start on. There are theories for and against the sertraline being an antagonist of the RLS. Does anybody take these 2 meds in combination successfully?
