Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had problems or no problems with Madopar (Roche) products available in NZ. I am thinking of trying their range - sounds like fine wines doesn't!

I've been using their 62.5mg capsules in NZ for the last year. No issues

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, I am already using the 62.5 mg rapid for when I wake up in the morning and need a boost to get me going. But I haven't used the capsule version so good to hear it's OK for you.

My husband has been using the 62.5 x 3 per day for 6 months or so I think? It is much less nausea inducing than Kinson, but neither seem to help him much, rather they make him anxious and stiffer in the shoulders and arms. Increasing the dose sends him into spasms. Recently he is trying Kemadrin 1/4 tablet morning and night which seems to offset the side effects slightly. The disadvantage with madopar over Kinson is it can’t be cut so dose can’t be increased or decreased slowly.

Many thanks for your reply. Yes it's a fine line and this crazy weather where it is 29C one day and 14C the next doesn't help. I've been taking the rapid version of the 62.5 mg Madopar as a boost to get me going in the morning but have not tried the capsule versions. I find listening to calming music (for me Merle Haggard) helps me a lot as does some exercise and stretching exercises.

He hasn’t been offered the rapid ones, only the poisonous blue coloured ones🤣

Hi, in my case it was yellow coloured ones! Try the rapid version of Madopar 62.5 mg. Ask your doctor for prescription - you can break them in half and they dissolve in water. No taste and no food colouring! Hope this helps - would be interested to know how you get on. All the best.

Not NZ , but I am taking the Canadian version which is by Roche, only called Prolopa here. I have worked up to a high dose, 25/100caps, three caps every 3 hours. I get no side effects at all . I had to add a low dose of Mirapax, for Restless leg syndrome. I take no supplements at all.
