Lu-177 in Austria - Report and underlining high importance of both FDG and PSMA PET/CTs
My plans for future treatments how I see it now: Do not do another
Lupron
shot now (wasn't planned anyhow) and in September to do again PSMA and FDG PET/CTs scans as by then
Lupron
will be completely out of the system and PSA most probably on a rise.

Good news to share!
I began
Lupron
injections about five years ago. The number dropped to about 0.84, then began another long slow climb. After a PSMA PET scan revealed that there were "no distant metastaces," I began Darolutamide (5/7). After 12 days, my psa dropped from about 2.4 to 0.98.

65th bday last Sunday (Dx'd in 2015) Did 65 miles over two months with Bonnie and did a bday 5k. #10 Cabazitaxel right now, just got Lupron
PSA up again to 2.8 from 2.5 with a nadir in this 3rd course of chemos at 2.1. 31st chemo overall. Have a phone appt with MO to see next step, looks like 9 Cabazitaxel sessions didn't do it. Taxotere failed in 2021, so did Abiraterone and then Xtandi in 2020. May be time for a PSMA scan, since I'm on

Recommendations for ROs and MOs in Houston
He was started on
Lupron
in February and Prolia in late March (he has osteopenia and wasn’t informed about the
Lupron
bone density loss issue). Both of these were administered by the urologist. He just had his first radiation treatment yesterday (which is to continue M-F for 9 weeks).

Currently on Xtandi, Xgeva,
Lupron
/Eligard. I have the costs figured for my current meds but tough to know cost for the future meds once the current stop working, which is a virtual certainty the way it is explained to me.

Nubequa Failing?
And before that
Lupron
and Casodex since 2011 with some vacation time in between and a year, 2017, in a clinical trial using estrodoil applied by applying to shoulders daily. Worked great for me but trial never published.

Move to Moffit Cancer Center
SOC (
Lupron
,Zytiga, Prednisone) for mHSPC working well at Florida Cancer Specialists,
FCS,
in Naples. Convenient but I don't trust the doc. Considering Moffit for care and treatment at FCS. Please comment.

LU177? Or? So many questions!
Since then did VERY well with
Lupron
/Casodex (combined) so that after 9-12 months on I would get 1-2 year HT vacations. Twice I did scans followed by SBRT (also included 3-month HT shot) which did great...but of course the eventual PSA wake-up call.

Depression from 2nd-generation hormone therapy is worse
I found a JAMA paper on the NIH website titled: Association of Second-generation Antiandrogens With Depression Among Patients With Prostate Cancer It noted that hormone therapy (like first gen
Lupron
) has a higher incidence of depression as a side effect but that the 2nd-generation meds for castration-resistant

I'm now castrate resistant - what now?
I've been on Prostap (I believe it UK
Lupron
equivalent) and 50mg Bicalutamide and my nadir (around 0.7 has now doubled over the past 6 months. My current reading is 3.1 (12 wks ago, it was 1.5) So the trend is clear, and I see my onco this afternoon.

Treatment recommendation
Soon starting 18 months of ADT and salvage radiation and my Oncologist is giving me the choice between
Lupron
/Casodex or Orgovyx. I'm leaning towards Orgovyx. Does anyone have any thoughts between the two? Thanks!

Nubeqa and LDH level was high now normal
OK,I have been on Nubeqa 10 months Continuing on
Lupron
monthly. My choice to do monthly. Anyway my LDH level has been high, as high as 285. But yesterday it was 213 - normal. Any ideas on what this might mean?

Back to plan B - No longer chasing Lu177
Still continuing with Xgeva &
Lupron
every 3 months. He has tolerated chemo, although it's been cumulative and his "bad" days have been increasing harder on him. My hope is that he'll tolerate Xofigo well. I know we'll have to watch his blood counts through this.
