Hi, I am 72 years old, about a year ago had a
lumpectomy
because of cancer, all ok now. Was given Lectrozole because cancer linked to oestrogen. Had a bone density scan, results were Ostopenia, so given Alendronic Acid and calichew-D3. Is anybody else on these medications?

BC metastasizes to dermis
I had a
lumpectomy
because this was in a mastectomy breast and they did not want to deconstruct the DEIP Flap reconstruction and the tumor was so small they could remove it with a
lumpectomy
. And they got clear margins.

I have been in treatment for breast cancer since 2006 and have done the drill -
lumpectomy
, lymph nodes removal, chemo, radiation, herceptin, Arimidex for six years… then in 2019 a mastectomy, more hormone blockers, and three years of various combinations with Ibrance, which has sadly stopped working

HER2 and ER positive breast cancer
I was originally scheduled for a
lumpectomy
but they found the HER2 & ER positive, so now chemo and targeted therapy followed by surgery and radiotherapy. I was very lucky that my accident led to a speedy diagnosis but I'm still dealing with the enormity of it.

Cortisone injection in hip area
I had to put off my breast MRI (I had stage 0 bc treated with
lumpectomy
and radiation in the summer of 2021). I have to get MRI every six months... all has been clear so far, but I was in too much back discomfort to do it this past Sept. Too many things!

Burning pain to side of scapular post several breast ops - anyone have this too?
I have begun to wonder if it is due to the 5 ops I've had on the same side at the front, of course, ie
lumpectomy
and 2 axilla removed in 2019, radical mastectomy in Sept 2020 (9inches from chest bone to underarm),
lumpectomy
in 2021,
lumpectomy
in 2022 and larger area taken (5inches x 2 inches) along

Radiotherapy
Next week I go for radiotherapy for a
lumpectomy
. I have 5 days of it, being fair skinned I am worried about the 'sunburn' effect that it will probably have on me, as I stay out of the sun due to burning. Not to mention, the feeling sick! Any suggestions please?

side effects of Tamoxifen
She underwent a
lumpectomy
in her left breast, chemo, radiation and has been on hormone therapy - 1 tab of Tamoxifen a day since 2017. She must have it for 10 years i.e. upto 2027, as a preventive against recurrence of the cancer.

What was your lumpectomy recovery like?
I have a surgery date in a month for
lumpectomy
. I'm starting to rethink that.How was
lumpectomy
for you? Pain, mobility, appetite, appearance, etc.

Tamoxifen switch to Femara (letrozole)
Also, I am wondering if anyone with HR+/HER2- stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma with no lymph node involvement removed through
lumpectomy
followed by 3 weeks of radiotherapy has just chosen not to take the anti-estrogen meds and what led you to that decision. thanks for an insights!

I had breast cancer 4.5 years ago (
lumpectomy
and radiotherapy only - very lucky) and have been on tamoxifen since then. Due to finish tamoxifen in July 2024. Apparently the taking of this drug increased my chances of endometrial cancer … and that’s what I had. Stage 1B.

Hi At age 32 I had a triple negative tumour removed (
lumpectomy
) followed by chemo and radiotherapy. Fast forward 31 years I have just had a mastectomy after I had an oestrogen positive tumour. No chemo needed-phew!

CA 27-29 has your tumor marker test ever gone into normal range
I had ER+,PR+, HER2- breast cancer in 2014 with
lumpectomy
with 4 rounds of chemo and 32 rounds of radiation. In 2022, diagnosed metastatic to bone only. Even after treatment in 2014 my tumor marker test always ran in the 20s. Less than 38 is normal and more than 38 is abnormal.

Hi ….from a newly dx’d comrade from the UK
I have a
lumpectomy
& sentinel lymph node removal scheduled for the 28th March. Drs Initial plan was for removal, tamoxifen & chemo….but that may have changed since MRI Undecided if I should just go for mastectomy though and I’ve read that tamoxifen is better for pre-menopausal women.

I had 7mm bc removed via
lumpectomy
, due to have radiotherapy soon, no chemo required. I am really struggling with the possible side effects of this drug. I know we are all individuals but just wondered if side effects are as hideous as I'm imagining?
